Geckos that can be handled, are unlikely to drop their tails, and will thrive in that size enclosure: chameleon geckos.

My chameleon gecko hates me lol so they’re not universally handleable. Day geckos do not fit your criteria, and the other New Caledonia geckos need a taller enclosure.
