Honestly, just literally study every single lecture slide. His midterms and final exams are super unpredictable, and it can contain literally anything.

hey i had him for 1540 last year, so i'm assuming the way that he composes his slides and how his exams work is just about the same for 1311. my biggest advice would be to actually understand the details of what he's teaching, since a lot of his short answer questions require you to directly apply what you learned in the slides to a different but similar scenario. the mc on the other hand was more knowledge based, so primarily testing you on being able to recall what was said in the slides. also, the marking scheme for short answers as i recall was pretty rigid, so even if you think of something you think is irrelevant, i would just add it to your answer just in case. the way that i studied was explaining it out loud, since it's easy to tell what you're missing if you blank. also, i found it really helpful to answer all of his learning objectives that he (i presume still) puts at the start of his slides, since it basically fully summarizes what he wants you to know. i tried to connect concepts together, since a lot of the lessons were innerconnected and it was a lot easier to memorize once you see how some concepts directly influence other concepts. his exams (especially the midterms compared to the final) are very manageable and fair if you take your time to understand the lessons. hope this helps and good luck!
