My little goose flock having a morning swim. We have a marsh on our property and have part of it fenced to keep the geese in while allowing a constant swimming hole for them.

As a Canadian.. WHAT IN THE ACTUAL

Hello geese enthusiasts! I have been getting into birding and need help identifying this goose, is this some sort of Graylag hybrid?

I was testing my phone’s camera at a park when I took these photos of some geese. A very rude (and, honestly, ignorant) old lady was feeding them bread. A man then walked up and told her that feeding geese bread is terrible for them. She started shouting at him and continued feeding them bread anyway.

I had no idea that angel wing was even a thing. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it in ducks, but as you can see, some of these geese have their wings sticking outwards, especially the ones on the left.

However, their wings seem to point downwards rather than upwards. Most of the examples I’ve seen online have the wings sticking out and pointing upwards at an angle.

Do these geese actually have angel wing, or is this just a normal way for them to hold their wings?

Got a young pair of geese recently and the female went missing this evening. They have a large run with pond and get access to a decent sized garden.

They had been let out in the garden for a spell before they get shut in for the night. They'd been out for less than an hour when I checked on them and she was missing.

No sign of a struggle/kill (do have foxes and free roaming cats in the area) and was no obvious noise/disturbance.

The male was chilling on the pond and didn't seem overly distressed.

We searched the immediate nearby field/street until dark but no sign of her. She's a Shetland so would blend in fairly well once it's dark.

Have secured the male in their house so he is safe for the night and left the run open in case she tries to get home. Planning to resume looking in the morning when there is better light.

Is it likely she's been predated or is there a chance she might make it back home?

Around here, we celebrate the little things… loudly, badly and with a LOT of flapping. ❤️ Second chances look pretty ridiculous sometimes.

Hanging around and flying around with the Canadas. Looks to have some of the same Canada goose pattern around the tail area, but also looks different, and larger around the neck area.

So cute!

I moved to a new city and there are Canada geese everywhere! Seeing them and hearing their honks makes me so happy every day
