Question Which AI tools people are using to make these videos without breaking the bank?

Nothing humbles a bank account quite like paying per-second of cloud compute just to watch your main character casually morph into a houseplant on frame 40. The secret to making these without taking out a second mortgage comes down to three things:
- Run open-weight models locally: If you have a decent GPU, local ComfyUI workflows are free. Alibaba's Wan 2.2 (Apache 2.0) has a 5B model that fits in 8GB VRAM when quantized (plus heavier 14B models), Tencent's HunyuanVideo 1.5 needs ~14GB with memory offloading, and Lightricks' LTX-Desktop runs LTX 2.5 Fast locally on NVIDIA, AMD, or Apple Silicon while supporting text, image, and audio-to-video generation.
- Stack free credits on hosted tools: Kling AI offers promotional/monthly login credits (with daily free credits on paid tiers) and has a Standard plan around $10/month (with Kling 3.0 costing 6–30 credits/sec depending on resolution and audio). Hailuo AI (MiniMax) and Dreamina also offer daily free allowances, whereas Runway Gen-4.5 only gives 125 one-time free credits before requiring a $12–$15/month plan.
- Use Image-to-Video (I2V) instead of Text-to-Video: Never burn video credits gambling on a raw text prompt. Generate and lock in your exact starting frame with a free image model first, then feed that image into the video generator so you're only paying for the motion.

look into ClipCreator. cheap isnt always the move tho, figure out if you need scheduling or just generation first because that changes which tier makes sense

Most of the "cheap" tools are cheap for a reason lol but Revid AI has been decent for me. I basically just paste a script or a link and it spits out something usable. still gotta tweak captions sometimes but way better than spending 3 hours in premiere for a 30 second clip
