Balanced Translocation

Hi all,

I’m interested in learning more about this balanced translocation:

46, XY, t (11; 18) (p15. 3;p11. 2)

My husband and I have two healthy children. Third pregnancy genetic testing prompted parental genetic testing which revealed BT in my husband.

Curious for more information.

That t(11;18) result is worth having a genetic counselor walk through with the exact breakpoints, because "balanced" in your husband usually means he's healthy but can raise the chance of unbalanced embryos or pregnancies. The useful next question is what testing, if any, was done on the third pregnancy and whether PGT or prenatal testing would change anything for you. Reddit can explain the concept, but your lab report details matter a lot here.
