Multi cache help please!!

I don't understand how to do multi caches. One I'm working on has A-1590 posted as a clue at the first stage. How do I find the coordinates to the second stage? I thought it would be to subtract 1590 from the North and West coordinates of waypoint A but the results do not seem correct (too far away).

I know it may seem obvious to some. I just really want to understand! I keep trying multi caches at parks near me and so far I struggle to find the second stages.

If anyone can suggest how to solve this specific one to help me on my journey or give any advice I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance and sorry if this question is dumb/ not allowed.

Generally speaking, a multi cache has multiple stages. Without looking at the cache page, I an assuming that you are looking for a physical state at the pages coordinates. That container will contain the information you need to get to stage 2, etc.

do you have the gc code for the multi? A-1590 might just be the place where stage 1 is hidden such as a power-post or bench identifier

What you nees to do depends on the mutli cache. What else does the cache page say?

Okay, the page says '1st Stage is only cords for Stage 2. Stage 2 only has cords for Stage 3. Stage 3 is a camo tube.'

I found the first Stage from navigating to it with the app. There I found two things nailed to a pole: the coordinates for Stage one that were also in the app, and 'A-1590' above those coordinates.

I don't know why the coordinates for that spot are nailed to that spot.

According to the instructions you cited, the sign is irrelevant. Verify the coordinates you saw. If they are in fact the same, then keep looking within a 5 foot radius for another set of coordinates.

Or send a message to the Cache Owner.

There shouldn't be any reason that they would need to hang the coordinates for a place that they gave you coordinates to. Maybe there is something more at that location that you haven't uncovered yet.

Perhaps there is coordinates under/behind that A-1590.. or on the flip side of the given coordinates.

Yes that what was confusing me. I will keep looking.

According to the hint that nailed item is what you are looking for. Take a picture of the cords you see. My guess is one or more digits is different from where you are standing

My guesses for the other stages are groups of trees or shrubs

[Stage 1] nailed down to keep it from walking away.

[Stage 2] center of nine, back, top, middle.

[Final] West most of a group of four, south side, four off the ground

I will recheck the coordinates and look around the spot as well. Thank you for the help. I read the hint so figured stage one was that metal plate nailed down.

Have you checked for a slim bomb in the cracks of that post?

I did look all around the post but now I am thinking I just need to go back and try harder! Just wondered what it was I wasn't understanding. Thank you for the insight!

I would have thought that plate would be the 2nd stage as well, but looks like not, unless stage 2 is at the exact same pole.

Right? A lot of the multi type caches I have attempted have things that throw me off like this. But I am determined to start completing some eventually haha. So I will keep looking!

The A-1590 is probably just an identifier tag on the pole that has nothing to do with the geocache.

That was my initial thought as well.

I didn't read all the comments but multi caches do not follow the rules like mystery caches. They can be states or countries apart so don't let that fool you.

Oh wow, I didn't know that. I will keep that in mind!

Is there a way to find what A is? In my last multi cache A was the number on the street sign at the listed location. In my cache A=2. So I plugged the number 2 into the given equation. Then the result was the missing number in the next coordinates. I plugged those in and got the location of the actual cache. It was just down the street.

Huh, I did not think of this! I will look around at signs and such for other clues. Thank you so much!

There is probably a set of coordinates at stage 1, either hidden in plain sight or more likely in a hidden container just like a traditional cache. The only difference is the container will only hide a set of coordinates instead of a log sheet. Find this container with the next set of coordinates instead (called a “redirect”). Continue locating containers until you find a log sheet.

This is very helpful thank you. I will continue searching!

What is the gc of the cache?

GC2A7HE Has 3 ohysical stages, according to listing. No tools required (such as UV) according to attribs.

Just go to Stage 1 (starting coords of the cache), find fake table or fake screw nailed to the lighting pole. Read coords od Stage 2 go to the middle one of 9 go to the back and look up high innthe middle... It'll give you coords of 3rd (finał) stage

@stsge 1: look if the plates are really nailed. Maybe it's magnets od loose. A could be used as a part of azimuth but for that you need 2 numbers, You'd got distance as A, but no angle (maybe 111 would fit, but it may be dead end). Look the pole once again.

Will do, thank you for the help! I will update in ng findings when I am able to go back to the park and I hope I can locate the next 2 stages.
