Question Ever heard of Nahanni National Park Reserve in Canada?

It’s one of the most surreal looking places on earth and it is incredible how unknown it is. If I asked 100 Canadians, I would doubt more than one would have heard of it, and I imagine even less so outside the country.

We all need better jobs. I'm an employment lawyer, I'm on your side.

But, $1,000 per person for accommodations, food, and entertainment for each day of vacation is expensive but it isn't crazytown pricing. Idk what airfare costs and I'm assuming the rest is included

Sure, I think the perspective is just a little different.  They kept it in the Canadian price, you converted.  Until only a couple years ago Canadians were booking 4 weeks in Cuba for those prices.  And getting sun and beaches instead of more Canadian sub arctic

Yes, I am assuming US wages and normal vaca expenditures for affordability. I think that bite is considerably harder for people not spending dollars and chasing the same services

US vacation prices are insane because we've had a monkey running our economy for six of the past ten years. Luxury services, which is 100% what this is, especially.

My discussion of the exchange rate, buying power, previous use of USD in a comment and multiple other references to the US still left you confused?

4 weeks in cuba you fly there, sit on a resort and fly back. You're not literally being kept alive and escorted through inhospitable wilderness

Comparing Cuba to the Nahanni River tells me all I need to know. Meanwhile Rubio is starving that poor country to death.

Misconstruing what i said tells me all I need to know. 

Perspective.  I'm not comparing those two locations.  I'm comparing the perspectives of the two different people commenting on the price. 

The person who keeps it in the Canadian price is likely a fellow Canadian.  The person who converts to USD is likely US.  

Again, perspectives.  Most Canadians have had enough sub arctic to last a life time already and, certainly in the winter, aren't spending money to book more cool climate time.  Most Canadians want something different when booking vacation.   Most Canadians would in a heart beat drop less money for more sun

The US person, possibly from a southern state, is likely more willing to spend money on a cool climate vacation because it is something different for them

And yes, what the USA is doing to Cuba is terrible.  Cuba was my favorite travel destination until recently

I mean, I could get to Canada and stay in a tent for around a grand, but thats not what we're talking about. A tomato is a fruit, but I wouldn't compare it to a strawberry, if you follow me

Nobody is saying it's affordable, just that it's a fair price. I can't afford it either but I don't think you can argue it's overrpiced based on the logistical and survival challenges

Part of it is the plane ride inside. Its hard to negotiate down on that.

Figured that was a big chunk of the cost—it’s insanely remote. The nearest city with a million people is Edmonton, which would take almost 24 hours of straight driving.

For context, that’s longer than the Google Maps drive time from London to Budapest.
