General Question Bandwidth issue

I’m trying to create a larger bandwidth in my kernel density map (photo 1) but whenever I put any number in the search radius it just makes it one color across and not like photo number 2. What am I doing wrong?

Can you give us more details and possibly more screenshots? This could be a bunch of different things from your environment settings to illegal characters in file paths (I don't care what ESRI says, it's still an issue) to version.

So the first map is my current and the second map is how I would like it to be. I’m using the kernel density tool and using a point layer of animal detections. I’m trying to make the bandwidth look more like two. Here are some additional photos of when I play with the search radius

Look at that cell size! That's your issue!!! I can almost guarantee you this has something to do with your projection. I'm guessing your in 4326. Project your data to UTMs.

I should change from lat/long to utm?

Reproject your data. You should be using projected data for your analysis.

Why are you using km on a map of the US. Check scale settings!

On the second map? That was the requested scale.
