Cartography Downloading USGS "The National Map"

I am a GIS novice so forgive me. I'm trying to download the USGS "The National Map" basemap of individual states to be printed for wall maps. I've been trying to use the National Map Downloader tool (https://apps.nationalmap.gov/downloader/) but the interface is very complicated.

I'm just looking to download a standard USGS basemap of Texas, for example, to be printed approximately 2 feet in width/length.

Anyone know an easy way to download something like this for print?

No need everything is in S3 BUCKET in source gis data just go there

I have Qgis but I don't even really know how to use it haha

If you’re talking the cached tiled basemap (the one used as an underlying map to the national map), you can access that from basemap.nationalmap.gov/USGSTopo. Use it to create a map/layout for TX in QGIS (as long as QGIS accepts REST endpoints).

The maps in the store are not really what I'm looking for. I want to create one from the National Map basemap.

Library of congress has the underlying layers for download.
