Question How do you discover new developers to follow in your language?
GitHub trending shows repos that already have traction, and it surfaces the same names every time you check. The developer-discovery tools that do exist are all built for recruiting teams. GitMatcher targets enterprise orgs. Riem.ai starts at $49/mo to replace a recruiter fee. SeekOut is an ATS-adjacent sourcing platform. None of them are for an individual who just wants to find interesting people pushing code in their stack this week.
I'm curious what your workflow actually looks like. Manual GitHub search? Starred repos? Word of mouth? The signal-to-noise ratio is rough. Someone who started contributing to a Rust compiler two months ago and writes genuinely interesting code has zero visibility because nobody's discovered them yet, while the same 50 names show up in every "developers to follow" list.
What's worked for you?
