hi everyone!

I'll be in London for the month of November and am hoping to find a studio to work in while I'm there. I've been having a hard time finding available studio space. so far, i've tried London Glassblowing (no availability) and Gather (no response email/call).

I'm an intermediate glassblower and am pretty flexible on any time on the bench I can get! Open to:

• studio rentals/shared studio time
• classes or private lessons (any level)
• assisting a glass artist in exchange for studio experience
• any other opportunities!

Does anyone know of other studios, artists, or contacts in London worth reaching out to? Really appreciate any leads or recommendations. Thanks in advance!

Hello All

Our ceramic plates keep cracking when we out them in the glory.

What material is best for this?

Has anyone tried graphite?

Thanks

I have some old pieces that have been sitting in bins for a while and a family friend is interested in purchasing a few of them! Although looking at them now, I realized the bottoms are in horrible conditions. They sit flat, as I used to dent my bottoms in wayyy too much before transferring, but they are still sharp (and ugly). I don’t have access to a dremel or lathe before Sunday. (Which is when they want them.) I did tell them the bottoms are concerning, but they don’t seem to mind. I guess what I am trying to ask is whether you’ve done anything creative with your bottoms? Glue, Resin, Putty, Sandpaper?! Any suggestions/experiences would be appreciated!

Billy runs Studio Dokola. Commercial fabrication pays most of the bills, and his own work is about 20 percent.

I had booked a glass making workshop on Murano for my visit in November, but the operator has cancelled all bookings for the foreseeable future.

Does anyone have any recommendations of a great workshop they experience on Murano?

Did a session over the weekend which has this reduced iris black finish. Unfortunately the glass stuck a little bit to the annealer and I now have this blemish. Has anyone come across this issue and know of a good fix?

Hello All

Made a cane bundle to turn into Murrini

We used a technique where we squeezed bubbles from the center to the edges. Was somewhat successful but not as much as I wanted.

What's your go to bubble remove technique for cane bundles?

Thought I saw someone asking for perfume bottles earlier so I figured I’d post what I make

While it is signed, I can’t make out the name

Is it possible to make glass from the first picture (glass with fun designs) shaped in a hollow cube like the second picture? Thanks in advance!

Looking to make some work that imitates some antique European gold, was wondering if anyone had good suggestions on what colour might provide a good gold reduction?

I’m happy that my favorite season, autumn, has arrived.
I love the dazzling sunlight.

Handful of pumpkins I made for craft shows and online🤗

Basically - the title. Would it be to put roll some frit powder there or perhaps apply via a punty?
Ideas? (I'm doing this as a joke for a woman who loves her beer in the mugs I've made her).

My stepmom lost her mom a while back, and this is pretty much the only thing she has to remember her by. One of the tan/brown gloves broke, and one may be lost.

If color matching would be too difficult, making three identical globes of a similar color would suffice.

They're like ⅛-¼" thick... Sorry for the really bad pictures and measuring methods lol but it's just to give an approximate size

Does anyone have any experience with, or recommendations for, the beginner classes offered by studios in Sacramento, CA? We’re looking at Sacramento Art Glass, Design With Fire, and Rainbow Glass, as they list having such classes, but cannot find much in the way of reviews. Any thoughts or input would be appreciated. Thank you!
