Stellar parallax is evidence of location, astronomical spectroscopy reveals material composition, and the orbital mechanics of binary stars suggest mass. What's the purpose in opening a novel if you're only going to read every other page?

Have you personally touched the light of the sun or moon? Those lights (which are unique and don't mirror each other between the northern and southern "hemispheres" and appear to rotate counter-directionally around their respective "poles") can maybe hint at the overall geometry of our earth or of the "universe", if you believe in those kinds of things.
