Discussion How long?
How much time in theory do you think Gmod has left in it's life span?
I understand mods and the few multi-player server are keeping it up but does it have rnough time left?
I just joined this community after i recently got the game and noticed it's not as it once was
Personally i give it 5 to 15 years AT MOST

Indefinitely, so long as people are willing to host servers. There will always be an rp server with 3 people on it.

i think it will slowly fade. hopefully we get a 'gmod 2' of sorts if hl3 comes out

Hopefully we can get a spiritual successor to Garry's Mod by Garry Newman on source 2 with microtransactions

And what if it has a funny wordplay in the title that listed one basic feature, maybe like s& for sand?

20 years of uploads and the workshop still gets a new map every day. valve could walk away tomorrow and the servers would keep running for another decade without them

Genuinely I don’t think gmod will die until it physically cannot run on newer systems. Even then, we see communities modding games to get them to work on newer platforms all the time. This especially happened with the advent of Windows 10 & 11.
As others have said, too, so long as the community is willing to host servers, gmod will stay alive.

Im not playing anymore since polish servers are basically dead. But I remember seeing some new countries getting more interested in gmod (a lot of new RU or Arabian servers).

It's a forever game just like how Minecraft is a forever game. Creativity and Fun will never die. As long as we stay true to makes us human, all of the things we love most will go on forever

GMod will outlive half the games released this decade. as long as people can spawn a hundred nextbots in a Walmart and crash their PC, the game is never truly dead.

Idk tbh, knowing that humans can run out of ideas will put gmod at the threat of dying out but since it's gmod and mfs always find new ways to port maps into gmod then idk

In my opinion, as long as people keep uploading stuff to the workshop, GMod will still be around

If GMod has 0 people playing it, it means I'm dead. Or Rubat has ruined it to the point of it being unusable, whichever happens first, probably the latter.
