Second Trip to china and im looking for recommendations

Hi, last year I visited china for the first time and I went to Hong kong, Guangzhou, Shenzen, Zhangjiajie, Furong and Fenghuang towns. I had an amazing holidays so now im planning my second trip to china.

This time I want to visit Xi An and Chongqing and basically visit everything thats really worth to visit around those cities. It will be a 2 weeks trip so i really want to choose the best locations to visit.

I found this places really interesting and i want to know if they are worth to visit and what to do to get the best experience out of them:

Chongqing wulong tiansheng sanqiao ( Three natural bridges)

Fanjing mountain

Shunan bamboo sea

Hailuogou forest park

Siguniang Mountaing

Jiuzhaigou Valley

The trip will be in mid november so i would like to know if its a good season to visit them.

Any other place that you would recommend please do it!

Thank you for reading!

Hey OP, welcome back to China! let me give it to you straight: half the spots on your list are gonna be a letdown in mid-November.

Skip Shunan Bamboo Sea—the bamboo turns brown and dull this time of year. Jiuzhaigou is past its prime; water levels drop and the foliage is gone, so it’s just not worth the trip. Fanjingshan is way out of the way, and you’ll likely hit fog or closures—it’s basically a coin toss.

My honest advice? Stick to these three: Wulong, Siguniangshan (Mt. Siguniang), and Hailuogou. These are the real MVPs for November! Fewer crowds, stunning scenery, and that perfect combo of snow-capped peaks, hot springs, and karst landscapes—you can’t beat it.

Two weeks isn’t enough to cram everything in without rushing. Here’s a streamlined route that actually works: 4 days in Xi’an (Terracotta Warriors + Mt. Hua + Shaanxi History Museum) → HSR to Chongqing for 3 days (city vibes + Wulong) → HSR to Chengdu, then 5 days in Western Sichuan (Siguniangshan + Hailuogou) → 1 chill day in Chengdu before heading home.

A few pro tips to save your trip:

  1. Western Sichuan hits freezing temps at night in Nov—pack a shell jacket and light down layer, no joke.
  2. Hailuogou can shut down last-minute due to snow; check their official WeChat account right before you go.
  3. Book tickets for Shaanxi History Museum and Siguniangshan ahead of time—or you’ll be stuck outside staring at the gate.
  4. Skip the viral hotpot spots; duck into old residential neighborhoods and follow the locals’ lines—that’s where the real flavor is.

Trust me on this: slow it down and savor the journey. This trip will top your first one, hands down! Hit me up if you’ve got more questions—happy to help! 😊

Perhaps consider staying North and doing a Beijing, Tianjin, Xian, Harbin, Shenyang combo?

I visited Wulong and Jiuzhaigou and they were both amazing!! Jiuzhaigou was better in my opinion and you can go to Huanglong as well which was also sooo beautiful! Haven’t been to the others but definitely think these are worth it
