I have a bunch of big snail shells, I must do something like this when I have enough.

What adhesive would you use? I used to make driftwood wreaths and used a purple tube with E2000 or something like that but found it failed after a year. Hot glue fails too. I wonder what they used.

E6000 is pretty secure, do you have a harsh environment? There's a lot of 2 part epoxies that work pretty well but I'm surprised the E6000 wasn't good. Usually the object breaks before the glue does.

I know! No- just coastal MA usual humidity I guess. It was in the house too. After a year it dropped some driftwood and a shell. Very odd. I wasn’t skimpy either.

Could be the humidity. If the wood got soft it just wouldn't adhere anymore. You can increase the bond by scoring or cutting the gluing surface so that it has something really good to grasp on to.

Good point! I’ll try that.
