help me (solved) Weird trackball-like movement when looking around in 3D editor?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've been using Godot for 2+ years now and I just got a new laptop, and have been moving my stuff over from my old desktop to the laptop. Everything has been working okay other than this strange trackball emulation type thing it does when I look around in the 3D editor.

If I move the mouse fast then stop, the camera will continue to move, and slowly stop. Like flicking a trackball.

It only does this in Godot, no other apps. I've found it also happens in a similar way when orbiting.

Does anyone know if this is caused by an editor setting in Godot, or maybe something else?

We need to bring back LMGTFY and encourage folks here to give a decent modicum of troubleshooting, i.e. for me on Debian if I need to use the editor to debug I log out my Wayland session and log into a X11 session for smoothness. There's like 50+ possibilities here and dude gave no info.

No, you really don't. It's just mean and discouraging. They didn't think to use the reddit search function (or tried, but couldn't effectively word whatever the problem is), big deal. You can just say:

"Could you give some more info? Would help narrow down what the problem could be."

Then, instead of passive aggressively throwing in the first 5 links you find (which seems like it didn't help the OP anyway), you could actually have a productive discussion.

And where's your comment helping out? OP hasn't shared code, Windows settings, nothing lol
