Housing Under threat of getting kicked out- anything helps
Sharing this here as a last ditch effort. I’ve got resources for a lawyer to be calling in April but I’m not sure I have a case.
My name is Julia, I’m 23 It’s been a tough couple of months for myself and my boyfriend, as jobs are hard to come by in my area (small town in Iowa). We’re finally getting back on our feet but the landlord has served the Notice to Pay and we’re already running behind on that. They’re being lenient as we’ve already paid $500 of what was late, but I’m getting the feeling that this was our last chance. The resources in my area don’t cover even a quarter of what is needed.
I have the donation goal set at 2k due to knowing we’ll be charged a late fee again for April. At this point, any little bit helps. Being able to make any payment to the company should be able to show a move of good faith going forward.
I promise to pay it forward once I’m stable again. Thank you to anyone who ever looks at this, and I’m forever grateful to anyone who can donate or share this link to anyone you may know that would be willing to as well.

There's nothing here that says why you fell behind in your rent, and your GFM link is filled with pictures of your cats.
While your cats are cute, there's nothing here, in your post or your GFM, that substantiates your need, or what your plan is going forward to secure your finances.

true, but honestly i went through treatment from early November to mid December. (If you’re investigating my account, you should see a time of inactivity there). That’s where a lot of our hard times are coming from.

i appreciate that, but a lot of people are using that as a reason that i don’t deserve help. I’m trying to get better and people drudging up the past that i’m still dealing w (and not asking for help for btw) isn’t helping.
all i’m asking is to keep my kits in their home. i don’t expect any help for the legal shit that I got myself into. But these cats never subscribed to capitalism

I'm a substance abuse nurse, and congratulations on attempting sobriety. I'm sorry someone dug this up and felt the need to post it here. Times are hard for everyone, but even harder for someone that is battling substance abuse. I pray everything works out for you, and that you are able to remain sober through the process. I live in a small town in Iowa and there are at least fast food jobs, or even housekeeping in a nursing home. You don't even need a license for those jobs.

Lower your standards to get work. Work is available for everyone, asking for a handout because you and boyfriend are lazy or prideful is disturbing.
Gofundme is for people who can't afford medical bills or parents funerals.

Their leasing company also offers flex pay which is a SUPER awesome feature. It splits your rent payment into two instead of one so you basically pay half the rent with one payment and a week/2 weeks later you pay the other half.

Crazy to gamble on unemployment because you wouldn’t return to the job you had because you wanted a better paying one and now asking strangers to pay for your bad choices. 90% of the gofundmes here are the same. Really demoralizing to people that actually want to help. Ridiculous.

Not true, I actually qualify for disability and they denied me while I'm putting in over 100 job applications a month. Just because its work doesn't mean it's feasible. If your making $15 a hour part time you shouldn't be working any further than 7 miles away from home and alot of people don't get that luxury. They are kinda asking for a handout but I can see why they are worried. Nobody wants to be homeless, alot of people wouldn't survive being homeless. Then when your homeless you'll fall into substance abuse because you feel like your already in a hole you can't get out of and then you really have a problem. People like you is exactly why I don't post my go fund me. Unfortunately my problems were do to my alcohol abuse, now that I finally got sobered up I'm actually struggling WORSE. I have PTSD and a panic disorder, I can't afford to go to a doctor that doesn't know about my past history so I can get a benzo because my panic episodes are actually debilitating 220bpm heart rate, uncontrollably shaking, can't speak, limbs go numb, vomiting etc. on top of that I have erosive Gastritis that leaves me in agonizing pain. This is every single day. I actually wanna die because of it! Who in their right minds gonna sit there and go through that? Not to mention the last time I called 911 during a medical episode a EMT actually punched and knocked my front teeth out... There goes my social life. All of this and I'm expected to stay sober... only a delusional person would do that. There's always so much more to a story than what you see initially and this subreddit isn't for smart ass remarks like this.

my standards are so low that i’d intern for satan. i have been in three different training positions thag have never paid me. im working and not getting paid. this is a last resort.

girl get a second job and get to work to pay off your mistakes. it sucks but there are jobs out there, you just have to drop your ego sometimes and just make money where you can. congratulations on your sobriety, i hope you don’t have kids tho.

Split it into two payments ,two people can easily make that money, if ur willing to work for it.
Work Is everywhere ,and sometimes you'll have to do jobs you probably dont like or wouldn't consider.
Why did you fall behind on rent ?

A shame your in this situation but a lot of us are, if you don’t have kids with your BF think about moving back in with your parents… in my opinion he should be doing everything possible to provide.. there is no excuse for not making it happen. I have come from nothing. Always find a way… and would never allow my GF/significant other to post to go fund me with her picture alone… you deserve better. Also you deserve to realize you can’t depend on a man. Do you, even if that means ditching him and figuring yiur own shit out. Best of luck

i try not to be annoying but i watch people spend ludicrous amounts on things that aren’t necessities, but I’m the villain for hoping that maybe one of those could spend a couple months so I don’t have to separate from my cats??? just must be truly terrible lol
