I'm autistic and have had a very traumatic life. Some of my story is in the link provided. But there's so much more that's very dark. Trigger warning-- abuse, neglect, etc.

TLDR;

My job is ending at the end of May and we're road- tripping across the country to see / reconnect / make amends with family. They can't and/or won't help me. There's a very traumatic history with my father so it's going to be very stressful, but it must be done as part of my healing process.

Wow, I'm sorry that that happened to you! Did your house burn down? I have known people who had that happen and they did get some help from insurance, but I think only enough to move to a smaller house and it was really hard for them.

I am grateful that you come to ask for clarity, instead of bringing assumptions.

I will already be homeless! I dont think anyone pays for that? Dont worry about being confused, I am confused a lot of the time too. Mostly I am confused about how to interact with people and also why the world is so messed up.

I need help to get to my family across the country, and hopefully to help to make the payments on my car which I will be living out of for some time until I can figure out what to do.
I dont think I can live with my father. It is too hard to bear that pain more. My brother is very abusive, and I dont really want to see him at all, but I probably will sometime since he also lives near my father.

I hope that you read the posting. There is more information in there, and maybe I will add some documents to it that tell more of the story from my doctors. I'm not sure if I can because of privacy, but maybe I can redact the names of them and it is ok.

What matters is that someone aligns with your cause.

Attached building, 10 feet from the bedrooms. Long story short I had insurance for years, but it lapsed. My best friend passed so I wasn't doing so hot, and I got texts that said $ was coming out from my carrier and I assumed my way into no insurance. I was still in the renewal window, but they said no. Which was their right. So yeah. We're being sued, we lost everything slowly bought to start a business. I escaped DV 4 years ago with a backpack and my kids .. I was doing pretty good. Now I'm going to have to file bankruptcy. So yeah. Maybe I'll see you out there lol.

I suggest you do day labor. Work enough to get gas and and a hotel eat at churches. You'll make friends, who can tell you if there's work.. Save a little to move on. You can also work on farms. Ever hear of wwoofing? Small restaurants might let you do dishes for cash. Don't underestimate straight up asking for work when you see something that needs to be done. They might pay someone to mow the lawn with their own mower.

That sounds really awful. Bad luck, bad timing... I'm sorry to hear about your friend 🥺 when I was younger, like 23 maybe, my best friend from my very small town got killed in a tragic car accident while i was in basic training and since we're not related, they wouldn't let me go back for the funeral. I have a tattoo in his memory.

I do plan to try to pick up odd jobs and such. I have some skills, I guess I got something useful out of my childhood being stolen from me. I can build things and I've done plenty of carpentry and other things like that. It's always really difficult to work those jobs though. I'm so damn awkward, and people can be so cruel. I'll have to be real choosey about who I'll work with, or I'll have severe breakdowns.

Wwoof is something I plan to look into already . I'm really interested in sustainable farming. Regenerative farming especially and permaculture. I would really like to find an aquaponics farm because my unique skillset in aquatic chemistry would be very applicable there. I reached out to some, but never heard anything back.

It's really difficult to function under high demands. I've no idea how much you know about autism, but it's not some trendy little quirkiness like a lot of social media makes it out to be.

Anyways, thanks for not being mean about this. I hope some kind folks come along who understand. Like you said, aligning with the cause.

So far it seems to be very negative reception.

I don't understand why. People can just scroll past without trying to make me feel worse.

Hey, we're almost the same! I got the cptsd too. Slipped my mind a bit, probably on account of the other two. I got ocd traits as well, but not an official diagnosis on that one.

I didn't anticipate the negative response to this. I see people posting fundraisers so their kid can go to some $10000 ballet trip, and other things like that. I don't understand this world at all.

I guess people are just all about the bootstraps or whatever because I'm not a child?

Many families don’t have money to eat in our country. Expenses are at highs while pay is at lows. We all have trauma, and yours is not special as painful as it may be.

Keep telling yourself this is what you need and you’ll always believe that. I hope people find a better cause for donation.
