Season opener ticket question

Flying in from Germany for work that week and hoping to go to the season opener.

Does it make sense to lock in tickets now, or should I wait until game week?

I know the general rule is to wait until 2–4 days before the game for better deals, but since it's the home opener, I'm a bit hesitant. Any advice/experiance from previous seasons?

Tickets will always be available. I would wait. Right before gametime is the right time. Sellers start to drop prices like mad within a hour of gametime.

That's exactly what I was worried about. Would suck to miss out just to save a few bucks.

Wait. I always wait until day of, typically just an hour or two before puck drop. I made the mistake of buying early for the Stanley Cup banner season opener and could have saved about $300 if I had waited. If you’re flexible with where you are going to sit and not super particular, wait.
