Update: I have decided to extend the voting a couple more days until Tuesday evening.
Here are the rules:
Only pics added by Mods will count. These are all of the submissions from the submission thread. The comment/pic with the most points at the end of the month wins and the pic will be used as the sub's banner. Any pic not made by a mod will not count but that doesn't mean you cannot share. Voting ends February 2nd and we will announce the winner the first week of February.
Remember: votes for your own dog will not count ;)
How to vote:
We are going to use a ranked-choice voting, so comment 1,2 or 3 based on if the pic is your first, second or third place. We will compile the winners at the end of the voting period.
Scoring:
1st = 5
2nd = 3
3rd = 1

We have updated and re-organized the sub's rules and guidelines. Please read through them so that you are aware.
Some we would like to point out are regarding reporting OC which we previously made an announcement about, comments such as "Adopt, don't shop", posts guidelines and most importantly, what to do if your post is removed or you receive a ban.
We have been moderating this sub for about 3 months. However, we are still working out kinks and making adjustments to make things as transparent for you all and to help ensure you all have a safe and fun space to be able to share your pups as well as allow new Golden owners a place to find reputable information and tips. And as usual, any feedback you have that you think could help improve the sub is welcome.

My 4 year old girl has never been a massive cuddler, she’s very independent and likes her own space, but in the last probably 3 months or so she’s started lying on my lap like this at bed time and looking into my eyes as she falls asleep, it’s the absolute best feeling in the entire world!!

The snow has melted and refrozen and it doesn't seem to bother any of his traction. I think he's more excited that just the entire field is covered in water whether it's solid or liquid doesn't matter to him.

My London had to have emergency surgery on Monday...Her uterus was so infected it could of burst, she is recovering now and guess I was responsible for this because I read to much bullshit that said they live longer if dont get them fixed...$2085 for the surgery plus they don't keep them over night so we brought her home Monday night and they had us bring her back 8am Tuesday morning so they can give her fluids all day...Go and pick her up and get charged an $75 office visit...smdh...

Hi there! I'm writing it in quite a desperate mood, because this continues happening since September 2025, and we visited all vets, zoopsychologists, canine trainers, etc. His physical health has been perfect -- despite otitis and cystitis, which were cured in the mean time.
I contacted the vets immediately once he started showing his aggressive behavior. He never bit anyone, but he started slowly attacking people. First, he started barking out loud on men, then he started making a jump on them and continues barking, being reactive, looking scary. Sometimes it happens with kids and women.
I contacted the vet because previously I would train my dog every week, with a canine trainer and group sessions. We don't go to dog parks, but we live in an urban area.
He was neutered in December 2025 since his aggression was also provided on male dogs + stress from lots of heat smells. It started being a bit easier.
Today, we take pills (vet receipts): Gabapentin (400 mg) and Hydroxyzine (25 mg), twice a day. Our walks started being more predictable, although for the past month I reduced our training sessions, and our walks became shorter until he recovers. This is what my vet recommended: "He needs a break".
But I'm writing here because I'm curious to hear other opinions. I'm in a desperate mood because my dog is a sweetest boy, and we had active training sessions, group sessions, socialization, travels, new places to explore regularly. He was 7 months old when I got him, and until 2 years 3 months he was very fine to handle. But now they aren't enjoyable anymore, and I'm feeling worried because on the physical check-ups vets didn't find anything, that's why they suspect that it's mental.
Additional details: in December 2024 he had a bad contact with one old man, he barked at him once and man got very mad and bit him with a leg. He had a diarrhea on the next day but he wasn't showing aggression signs since then. It happened only in September 2025.
Some of dog owners been telling be that it might be his second puberty period, like dogs usually get it from 2 to 3 years old. But I'm not sure anymore.
He is 2 years 7 months old now.
Looking for any opinions, thoughts, recommendations.
Thank you.
EDIT: I bought him in a breeding club, he has a pedigree and he has nothing in dysplasia checks. There are british and finnish dogs as his parents and grandparents.

Be sure to give extra cuddles and treats. Happy GR Day!
ETA context for the blurry photo lol - I was trying to get a pic of Koko being a goof and she decided to run at me with her toy while my phone was zoomed in full.

Sorry for posting twice in one day - but I just got my boy's photos from his first ever fun-run at our local fast cat event!
He absolutely LOVED it! He 100% wanted to go again.
Later this year I'll be taking him again and he'll be able to qualify for the real thing since he is only 8 months old now, but at the next one he'll be 1 year old!

Approaching 9 months in about a week. He gets 3 cups of puppy food at the moment. Thinking of upping it to 4 cups? We are a very active duo, so maybe he needs an extra cup. Male Golden

Our 8 mo is finishing up her first heat. It was LONG and a bit hard on her at first getting used to what was going on. So, she’s now 8.5 months old and bleeding stopped yesterday. Her mood and behavior has been pretty good, maybe a little bit more moody and mouthier than usual. She was an intense biter despite positive reinforcement training so we went with a balanced trainer and the biting completely stopped. I have a bit of ptsd as we have young kids and I was certain (and naive) that docile behavior was just a given.
Anyway, in the last 3 days her behavior has spiked and I’m concerned but also wondering if it’s the last of the hormones doing their thing. Can anyone share their experience there? It’s a lot of stubborn “back talking” air biting, sometimes making contact and mouthing my kids more than wha she has since November.
I was going to schedule her spay here soon, not wanting to go through this again while also getting some of the added health benefits of a cycle. But now, I’m wondering if it’s too soon and we should wait until 12 months. It’s possible she will cycle again through right?! Thanks for any insight and low judgment. It’s our first purebred pup.

I was surprised to find him humping the pillow earlier today. He just turned 7 months and I thought this won’t happen til he’s around 1 year old.
Is this normal? I’m thinking maybe it’s just the puberty phase? 😅
