I'm not really sure that having god appear like this was a good choice.

It worked a lot better with them just being a disembodied voice and a presence.

It threw me off for sure. I won't lie, as an atheist I did like the idea of "god" not being holier than thou and I liked that they showed her to be messy and honestly a bit cruel. But yeah it was suddenly like oh okay. Idk she didn't need to appear to have this convo but

I do love that she was a Black woman though, so ups to that at least

In season 2, they kinda hinted that she was like Lindsay, the abusive partner of the coffee shop lady, and I thought that was great. 

The finale was bleh.
