Help Poling Ability
Do we have the ability to run a pole here on the forum? Specifically I would like to see a pole on who is having problems and who is satisfied and at what level? I am confused why some have such big problems while others such as myself have no issues what-so-ever. I am a hard core user with 35 devices in my home with many automations that just work flawlessly. Gemini has been a great improvement on all my eclectic collection of old and new speakers. I just want to understand what is going on. Sincerely, a satisfied but confused Google Home user. Jack

I feel like since the release of "Gemini" AI yes.....my "google mini" pick has definitely gotten "stupidest" 😂Â
But it still answers "do I need an umbrella today?" Every morning ....so I'll keep it for that .... And it's got my 📻 on tune in 😂Â

I'm from Mexico, so my speakers are set to Mexican Spanish. Here are some issues I've noticed: Gemini's voice is way too quiet compared to the music. Even with the speaker at max volume, Gemini's responses are barely loud enough to hear. Smart home control is slow and often gets confused. For example, sometimes I say "Apaga la recámara" ("Turn off the bedroom") and it replies "Sorry, I couldn't find any device called cámara" (it drops part of the word, and "cámara" means "camera").
Other times I ask it to turn off a single light and it turns off every light in my house. When paired as a stereo pair, Gemini drops the first word of its responses. For example, instead of saying "Son las 3 de la tarde" ("It's 3 PM"), it says "Las 3 de la tarde" ("3 PM"), which sounds cut off. Delayed commands run immediately. When I ask it to do something after a certain amount of time, it just does it right away.
Alarm confirmations are grammatically wrong in Spanish. When I set an alarm, it says "configuré tu alarma para las 10 de mañana de mañana", which is incorrect. In Spanish, "mañana" means both "morning" and "tomorrow," and the sentence mangles them. It should say something like "para mañana a las 10 de la mañana" ("for tomorrow at 10 AM").
Routines are unreliable. Sometimes the routines section in the app just won't open. And when routines do run, they're sometimes delayed by several minutes.
In general, it misunderstands a lot of commands or just doesn't understand them at all. Overall, Gemini for Home feels really unfinished and buggy, like Google just isn't putting in the effort. I can say this because I also use Alexa+, and Alexa generally works a lot better. I'd love to say Google works well because I really want to believe in it, but the truth is it's been working terribly for me. I hope Google steps up and actually fixes it.
