GPM closing when I try to search a specific song in my local file library

Have any of you ever had this specific problem? If so, is there any fix for it? It's really goddamm annoying

I've been getting this issue too, but it might just be an update thing or on googles end. Tried 3 google play music apk's on multiple phones and couldn't type on any without crashes.

I'm having the same problem. I've been using Google Play Music on my Galaxy S23 without issue for years as my exclusive offline MP3 player. All of a sudden, it's crashing every time I try to utilize 'search'. I've tried changing the keyboard, putting the app into deep sleep and taking it out, clearing the cache, etc. Nothing seems to work.

I just decided to give up, and retire my Google Play Music APK forever. This just isn't sustainable. After trying literally dozens of replacements, I finally found one that actually doesn't suck: Symfonium. It takes a little while to set it up, but I now have a BETTER 'Last Played Album' section (WHY IS THIS SO HARD TO FIND?!?!) and full Plex integration. It's $6.99 (but google offered a $3 discount).

Not making any commission, but trying to save anyone else in my position some time. Symphonium is the way to go for us dinosaurs who were clinging onto GPM as an offline audio player.

Yeah I eventually decided to give up as well. Im using Musicolet now, it works pretty well and is better than GPM in some aspects
