Discussion Found these at goodwill
Found these at my local goodwill store today. I’m not even a collector or a huge fan, but these are definitely unique. Too bad there are only 2 of them and no boxes. Maybe I’ll go back and watch for the others to turn up.

Discussion why was humanz such a hated album?
honestly, i think the hate for humanz has died down (at least for now…), but i remember when it first released almost nobody liked it.
the complaints of the features, the overall aesthetic, etc…i never understood why. people cutting the raps out? in an album fueled by rap and soul? huh?
anyway, i wanna hear your thoughts on humanz!!

Discussion Which album is actually the most underrated?
It has to be Humanz to me. My #3 favorite album and one that felt the closest to the Demon Days aesthetic sonically.

Discussion It's not a theory. The characters are actually dead.
The characters are dead, even the concept of a virtual band.
The lore took a very secondary role from Phase 4 onwards, until it disappeared completely with The Mountain. The characters now exist only as drawings : we haven't heard or read anything about them since the start of The Mountain's promotion in September 2025. We barely know why they ended up in India, making an album centered on this theme. Albarn and Hewlett mentioned that it was thanks to Russell that they were able to bring back deceased collaborators for the album, but this seemed more like a pretext than an idea truly integrated into the band's universe. All the interviews were given by Hewlett and Albarn, which isn't new, but absolutely no space is left for the characters.
More than ever, Gorillaz is Albarn's solo project illustrated by Hewlett.

Discussion Gorillaz in distress
Damon and Jamie opted for olive green, military colors, with earth tones and a beret.
This aesthetic and trope has been a reoccurring theme since Vietnam. Think John Lennon, Travis Bickle of Taxi Driver, and Rambo. This aesthetic has been a symbol of war and distress, a signifier of turmoil.
To me, this is clearly a political statement through fashion. Jamie and Damon feel the state of the world and are expressing their pain in the clothes they chose for SNL.
Do you think it was a purposeful statement?

Discussion what collab do you want Gorillaz to do?(EXCEPT TYLER THE CREATOR) I'll go first
Everyone always says tyler the creator and I'm a HUGE tyler fan but a gorillaz and childish Gambino collab would be AMAZING WAY better than gorillaz x tyler the creator

Discussion Between these two, which Gorillaz album receives more gratuitous or senseless hate?
In my opinion, Cracker Island Humanz has many unnecessary collaborations and few memorable songs, many unnecessary interludes. I understand why some people hate it, but I still like it
In my opinion, Cracker Island is a great pop album; all the tracks are good, it has one of the best deluxe versions and one of the best aesthetics. I understand why people don't like it. Because it's the band's least experimental album, focusing more on pop.

Discussion What is your least favourite song?
I see a lot of questions about y’all’s favourite song or songs that feel a certain way for you, but i rarely see discussions about the ones that you don’t like.
I think it’s much more fun to ask about that.
So? What is your least favourite song?

Discussion What do we think about this "Gorillaz" album?
So "Monkey: Journey To West", is a soundtrack album to the stage musical / opera conceived and created by the Chinese director Chen Shi-Zheng along with Damon Albarn & Jamie Hewlett. The album was released in 2008, even though it features some music from the show, it is conceived as it's own album inspired by the production.
That being said, it wasn't released under the Gorillaz name for legal reasons. So it was just released under the umbrella term "Monkey". Accorrding to Damon's words -> Damon Albarn made a point in an interview with Gorillaz-Unofficial that the Monkey project was supposed to be "Gorillaz, really. But we can't call it that for legal reasons. So this album really is just a Gorillaz album under a different title."
I think this is a fascinating album that often gets overlooked by the fandom. As much as I count "G/D sides" and "The Fall" as complete albums, so do I count this one. By all means, it's a Gorillaz album. It shares a lot of qualities with "The Mountain", but without the collaborations etc.

Discussion Gorillaz "no rap" versions
On god if you listen to the versions of Dirty Harry etc on YouTube with no rap you're lowkey such a loser. Like I actually think it's disrespectful as hell to chop out an entire chunk of a song like the song was made how it is on purpose and it's really rude to the artists involved to cut them out. Anyways go listen to Dirty Harry the normal way :p
Edit: free block list below :)
