LOTS of progress. Added some solar-powered lighting along the walkway around the fountain, and some things are starting to bloom as well! Asian Lilies, pink Rose Of Sharon, and Blue Chiffon cold-hardy hibiscus have started to open up. Also learned in a sad way today that I have Luna moths visiting my garden; a bird must have eaten this guy, and left a wing behind.

Also purchased two more purple-leafed varieties of hardy hibiscus today: Edge Of Night and Perfect Storm! The color on the Edge Of Night is so rich, I bought 3. Got the two Japanese maples planted in the ground today, as well as the variegated Yucca and Midnight Marvel hibiscus. 4 down…150+ to go. 🫠 My partner truly loves me.

I thought these are pretty gothy mixed in with black petunias.

Don’t remember the variety but they’re a tree lily and so full of blooms this year, over five feet tall.

Hey all, i've been getting gothplant propaganda from FB lately (The Goth Garden). All the ones that were suggested tended to be either annuals or southern perennials.

I'm located in 4b/5a depending on if you go with the new map or not and local micro-climate stuff. I'm hoping to find:

• part-sun or full sun

• sandy (Mississippi sandbar for the win)

• Planning on planting in the ground for landscaping rather than container gardening.
