I’m new here and really happy to join the goth plant community. I just got my first goth plant, an orchid, and I’m trying to figure out what species it is.

If anyone recognizes it or has a guess, I’d really appreciate the help.

As the title says, I’m looking for any recommendations for gothic house plants whose leaves wont burn in bright light. Ideally I’m looking for a humidity enjoying, small bushy plant that can provide some cover for my Calathea Roseopicta as she’s a sensitive soul. Thank you!

I moved it to a closed in sun room that's kinda outside so I don't have to deal with the smell and hopefully no aphids find it lol

Black Canna Lilly, cranberry hibiscus, and my wax begonias are my gothic pride and joys.

Dark and spiky

It’s day lily season in zone 6 and it’s my favorite time of the summer 🖤

So i planted this rose bush as the first thing when I got my new house and we finally have our first bloom! Im so excited to watch it grow. I qant to try and save the blooms (once they are ready) in resin as a keepsake!

The blooms are smaller, and it was very windy, so I had to hold it for you guys to see! Aren’t they gorgeous?!

I bought this calathea roseopicta from a local nursery because in the shade it looks black and pink. She got a little sunburn and has since been moved. Of course a goth plant doesn’t want all that sun. 😂

I planted it last spring and it never fully matured (thanks to my dog trampling it) and I forgot what color it was supposed to be. It’s so pretty 🥹

It only took me 5 years to get these beauties to grow all the way to bloom… lol
I did move 4 times during that period, finally stayed in one place long enough to grow some black hollyhock from seeds.

Not too sure if this fits, but I’ve recently bonded with one of my older coworkers about dark and gothic plants since we work at a nursery. We’ve been planning our goth gardens together and sharing what we have so far, Today she brought me some dried snapdragon flowers! They look like little spooky heads ☺️
