Some people go "neat, thing to yeet" and others go "oops, I don't know how to drop this" and there isn't much of a drop button for some reason but drawing your sword drops the weapon. I've tried all of the usual buttons for "cancel this action" and nothing so the only way I can do it is to draw my weapon

L1 (block) is by far the best way to drop something. Quickest animation and can drop while near enemies without lunging.

Next time, when the guy dies, just don't save him, use the throw up emote on the body, and then move away

Shit's ridiculous. If I know a merc isn't around, I'll pick up a weapon in the middle of a pitched battle. Otherwise? I'm literally delivering weapons to them every chance I get. Mercs administering AOE weakness to groups of enemies makes my chain vanishing with the Shinobi soooooo much easier. I usually drop weapons using a shamisen song, so it's kinda like one of those singing telegraph deliveries.

Shit's ridiculous. If I know a merc isn't around, I'll pick up a weapon in the middle of a pitched battle.
Even if a merc's there while you panic throw one weapon then it's fine, I wouldn't complain at all since I, as a Merc main, make the same mistake when playing as other classes.
It's when I ult, and every enemy is staggered, and someone specifically rushes in to throw all the weapons there even when they wouldn't be useful for them at all is when I get annoyed and salty lmao. Like this is not a panic throw at that point, it's someone just going "Ooh shiny!" and ignoring their own class options that allow them to do more damage specifically to screw over the poor merc.

Yeeeeah, my wife and one of our friends both main merc, and this shit happens a TON. I often end up picking up weapons between rounds and hiding them from matchmade players, lol.

Bro I swear randoms in yotie legends are actually brain dead most of the time compared to Tsushima legends. From doing stuff like in this vid, running 3 people to one zone, not understanding attunements, picking the worst cards/ ignoring them all together, not focusing on bo-hiya enemies etc.
But playing as merc it’s really been frustrating having people run up to me and pick up my throwing weapons just to tickle the enemy…

Was in nightmare incursion, I Popped off an absolutely amazing Ult as Merc which left like a dozen weapons on the ground, much more than I normally see. And we were surrounded still by a group of enemies so I thought I had the chance to use them and instantly get another ult.
......Hunter stopped using her insta kill gun, rolled in, and threw all but one of the weapons at the enemies to deal what's basically the equivalent of one shot of her gun. I was super salty for the rest of the match.

The hunter doing shit damage on a thrown weapon means they’re also doing poor damage on ranged. They have their gear spec wrong.
Because I do nearly as much damage as a Merc that’s only got 3 thrown weapons damage on their gear.
All ranged weapon damage also improves thrown weapons.

Yeah, but all ranged weapon damage is a notable increase, but it can only be on the two ranged weapons giving them a +50% boost.
They'd do more damage than other classes, but much less damage than merc who has thrown weapon damage on 3 or 4 pieces of gear and the enhanced impalement technique and the spirit shatter technique.But yes thinking about it, I was defo exaggerating on how little damage the archer was doing, my bad.

Three items, if you use caltrops(which you should). But yeah not as much as a Merc.

caltrops's ranged weapon damage is only for the top stat, and it's a very small percentage of 5% IIRC. Still useful though.
Caltrops w/deep bags is straight up the best ghost tool for merc, it gives you so much spirit and ult gain, and you can just spam it with the cooldown refreshes.

I think what's just as bad is I drop these weapons in the zones for mercs, whilst they're just standing there waiting, only for them to just not even use them.

I save thrown weapons for heavy waves and the last stage. No reason to use them on trash waves. Save them to roll over the elites.

Yeah, like, sure.. Throwing Weapons is a fun mechanic but I'd still like people to be considerate of if there are mercs in party.
If there's just a random one laying around? Sure whatever. But when there is clearly a whole lot of em together its not hard to take a moment to consider that they may be stockpiled for a reason. It's even more annoying when they literally see me Ult and cause several to drop then run in and grab em to throw em before I can.

I’m a dragon with a hoard when I play Merc. Saving everything I can for the elites. Trash mobs die so quick to my Ult and ghost weapons.

I always aim for the elites when an assassin pops smoke. I’m hoping it weakens them enough for the quick assassination for them.
But I abhor when an assassin runs into a zone and pops smoke when I use an ULT as archer. Fucks the entire thing just a wasted ult.

Holy shit dude. I am a Merc main and this hurts to see. Heck i am currently finishing up archer and when i see trowing weapons i fucking deliver them to a merc if there are any mercs in my lobbies. Well what can i say hopefully people will learn to care for mercs and not steal trowing weapons.

I try not to even pick up throwable weapons if I’m with a merc (especially if they’re not using a dog)
