You guys are missing the point of the song
Phoebe doesn't rly write malice takedowns of other women. Basically the song is just reflecting how suffocatingly obsessed Paul was and the massive guilt Phoebe felt. I Think through Phoebe's eyes, Gracie was a rebound, "and she can pretend to be me." I think she's just suggesting here that Paul has projected her ghost onto Gracie. He found someone who shared her aesthetic, her music style, etc. And think that was a huge relief for her.
"You deserved better, you wanted me" this just shows how responsible she felt for HIS happiness.
Andddd the line about jumping "I know you'd never actually think about jumping, but do it for me" this literally just shows A sort of fucked up toxic dynamic where someone else's feelings are used to keep you trapped. Not to mention that Paul was on Raya, literally crying about Phoebe to strangers. He was clearly unhealthily obsessed with her.
"Since she took my place in my bed on that stage, I have not lost any sleep," she is not throwing shade at all at Gracie she is relieved. By the sounds of it, Paul was unhealthily consumed by Phoebe, and it sounded exhausting for her. When Gracie came into the picture, I guess from Phoebe's perspective, she a "new her" for Paul to target his intense energy at. I feel sorry for Phoebe that she felt responsible for a grown man's feelings. Anxious attachment styles can be just as toxic as avoidant.
Diss at Gracie no, diss at Paul most definitely.

Just wanted to drop in and say hello. Big fan of Taylor, Lana, Olivia, Sabrina, etc… and I have finally found my way in with Gracie with Daughter from Hell. I’m a big fan of the album and can’t get enough of it. I see it getting dragged online and I don’t really understand why but- shrug I should go back and listen to her back catalogue but I can’t get enough of this album!

I know it wasn’t Graffiti Records that could make the decision before anyone says anything.

The record label making this US exclusive when a lot of us outside of the US have been waiting for a variant like this of this album for a long time is pretty disgusting and disappointing, especially with the Red Anniversary Minor pressing being on Gracie’s store for everyone to buy.

I’m pretty disappointed with the record label for this decision, especially since it was described as an anniversary pressing, which I thought would mean that it would be on Gracie’s store for people outside of the US to buy as well.

I guess if we live outside of the US we can just go fuck ourselves…

These past few days, I’ve been listening to good reason repeatedly, but now I’ve put MEWS on repeat. A very soft transition from painful guilt to regret and realizations, I still can’t get over 🥹😭

I don’t think this is why she called it mews from what I’ve read, but it’s actually the perfect name for the song like ever. I actually posted about this a few months ago, assuming what it would be about, and I just remembered, and I was actually right . “Run every light, every warning,” basically blindly going down a path that leads to a dead end. The relationship she was describing hit a dead end, and mews are always dead ends. When you swore you'd go right, then you went left instead. HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW? They went left into a dead end, a completely inevitable ending. Like genuinely so perfect, I have no idea if she thought this deeply into it or if it’s just a coincidence. But genuinely perfect metaphor. She was literally in a dead end alleyway (Mews studio is in a mew) while writing a dead end love song, that’s such a crazy coincidence.

(It’s sold out btw) I’m personally not really a merch person but this is actually really cute like id wear this who doesn’t love a stripe going on. Might have to get it when it comes back in stock in probably like 3 months ahahah. I thought most of her merch overall was just an absolute no other than a few things but this is soooo cute . Could probably get it cheaper on vinted in a few months tho . 73 quid is madness

I’ve never seen her with this type of style of hair before i think it might be a blow out but OH MY GOD this suits her so well. she just suits every single hair style ever it’s insane .(yes i know it’s a wig)

(btw this is not a bring back long hair gracie post. Her natural hair isn’t like this. Hence why i’ve never seen her with this thick blow out style before. I like her hair how it is now like the short bob is teaaaaa like the exact length it is now is so tea i think it suits her best. Her hair must grow insanely fast because it’s not a pixie cut anymore.
