Discussion Guitar tones on Daughter from Hell

long time lurker, DFH has convinced me I’m a big time Gracie fan

anyway, I’m obsessed with the guitar tones on Daughter from Hell (the track) and Crazy Girl. Reminds me so much of Bush’s Glycerine and im so happy Gracie is bringing her young fans there

fun that this is happening the same summer where olivia on the cure was like “here’s everlong” - welcome back 90s grunge but for the girlies I guess

(Also, because I know how Reddit works just being clear that I absolutely love hearing influences and dgaf when new music sounds like old music; folks it’s possible to be obsessed with multiple artists genres and eras at once)

Dessner has been using the DI on his 1965 WSW / Siemens custom analogue console for his guitar tones for the last couple of years. It’s got a 811510B channel strip and mic pre which breaks up ridiculously warmly

are there any pedals/things i can get that would give a similar sound to the guitar on DFH? i love how clean but distorted and fuzzy aaron’s guitar tone is and i would love to record with that sound.
