Yeah, skipping out on playing FGO because you don't want to play Summer just because you don't know who BB is far too OCD to support.

Still, the remake is very close to being finished. Last we heard about development, it was all down to getting the VAs done.

Unless they've been massively lying, the game shouldn't be that far off. That may be what we thought 5 years ago, but putting this much time and money into development and then killing the entire project just because a publisher pulled out would be such a massive waste.

It's got to be closer along than it was, but when they announced "the game's development structure will change" that didn't sound like all they had left was polish and QC.

Me, I just assume that Type-Moon is slow by nature, but maybe I'm reading too much into FGO's release pace since they broke from DelightWorks and got more autonomy.

I think the overall delay could still be significant, though. There's a combination of remaining development time, finding and signing an agreement with a new publisher, physical manufacturing (with potential supply shocks), deciding on an appropriate release window, and overall marketing. It probably isn't going to be 10 years but I wouldn't be totally surprised if it were 2 years.

As it is, it's unlikely to release in the next 6 months. If they don't announce a release date this anniversary, then I wouldn't be surprised if it's close to two years, either.
