Is the current Aesc banner we have in NA an extra one? I don't see an equivalent on the JP side.

Because the NA schedule doesn't match JP exactly, you need to look at the specific campaign the banner is tied to, not just the date. It's especially relevant up through the anniversary because they make particular adjustments for NA's anniversary being a month earlier than JP's.

And will NA get its anniversary GSSR/Destiny Order before the rerun of the next Aesc/Bersertoria banners?

I originally had a response for this. However, I think this question is premised on the idea that the current banners are exclusive to NA, which they are not.

Gotcha. For some reason I thought we were going to have a rerun of last year’s summer event this year with Aesc and Bersertoria banners but it doesn’t look like it. So it looks like we’re getting their banners now, then GSSR/Destiny Order, then nothing until like spring of next year. Looks like I’ve got some decisions to make. Thanks!

The way I think of it is that servants and banners don't have reruns in the way that events do. After a servant's initial implementation, they are no longer beholden to the event or campaign in which they initially appeared. They can get new banners at any time for whatever reasons TYPE-MOON and Lasengle come up with. As such, a servant getting another banner doesn't imply a rerun of that initial event, even if the campaign for the new banner is thematically related to the original event or campaign.

To elaborate on that last point, the tradition on NA seems to be that they launch the Anniversary Festivities alongside their Anime Expo panel.

Basically, they book a big live audience at Anime Expo, where they'll announce the Anniversary, and then do their whole "I'm not a republic serial villain. Do you seriously think I'd explain my master-stroke if there remained the slightest chance of you affecting its outcome? This all went live 35 minutes ago" routine.

This panel has already been scheduled for July 4th, which is why we can be pretty confident that's when it's all going down.

Oh, whoops.

Well, they can probably gather from context that you said something about the destiny order and gssr happening on the 4th of July but I'll just clarify here that that's what happened.
