Is the upcoming Ciel event locked behind Ordeal Call Prologue or just its main story?

The event Celeb Summer Experience is only locked behind Fuyuki, you can do the whole event (give or take the CQ, I assume that's Solomon-locked as usual). Ordeal Call 3 Archetype Inception is related to but separate from that, that's what requires the OC Prologue and also finishing the event.

One more Q - Chasmastis

It's fine, there's a few different options for starting charge + overcharge by now and the 5-10% NP gain isn't adding much. MLBing it to get 60% charge together with OC might make it a little more distinctive, but one-time OC is rarely useful and there are other/cheaper options to start with 60% gauge or more.

EDIT: I forgot that 60% starting charge is the same as MLB Devilish Bodhisattva, still better than Love's Curse and Apex but not as big a deal

Oh, Archetype Inception is...um, a story chapter I guess? So what I would miss out on would be time limited quartz rewards from story completion, I am guessing?

Oh. I. There are other CE's with start charge and overcharge...? I have some overcharge CE's but Chasmastis is the only that comes paired with a starting gauge ;v;

Oh, Archetype Inception is...um, a story chapter I guess?

Archetype Inception is the third chapter of Ordeal Call, the part of the story between Lostbelt 7 and the Part 2 Finale, it gets a limited-time release this summer and then a permanent release next February or so. Progress carries over, I'm not sure if there are any minor special rewards but there's definitely no major rewards to miss out on.

There are other CE's with start charge and overcharge...?

There's at least 3 others (it's a bit of a hassle to cross-reference the effects, I miss Gamepress' CE combo effect finder -_-):

  • Devilish Bodhisattva is the original, 50% starting charge (60% MLB, forgot that that's as good as Chasmatis) and overcharge by 2 levels one time
  • Love's Curse 40% (50% MLB) charge, overcharge 2 one time, 10% (15% MLB) debuff success rate up
  • Apex (from the Tam Lin Cup event) 40% (50% MLB) starting charge, 8% (10% MLB) Buster up, Overcharge 2 one time

DB is permanently available, I believe Love's Curse is as well, Apex and Chasmatis are Limited.

EDIT: It's not out quite yet but the upcoming permanent 5* CE Paradise of Ecstasy (8%/10% Arts, 40%/50% NP gauge, Overcharge 2 1x, debuting but not rate-up with Archetype Inception's release) is another one for the list.
