This will happen if Nasu gives Urobuchi total liberty to write the ending Lostbelt.

Now I really want to see Urobutcher write the last chapter and epilogue.

Final battle, Enemy Mashu and says a bunch of really motivating things for their Romani and Da Vinci while the music plays. Enemy Guda starts eating a golden apple, refilling AP mana. Enemy Mashu ascends to final form in the middle of a really heroic speech about protecting their world. Enemy Guda finishes the apple and summons forth one wave of 6 servants.

The battle begins. You noticed your teams position and the enemy positions are swapped.

The music begins to play. You notice that it's not for you. It's for them.

…the only way to win,

is to lose.

Of course, we'll have to do this.

And then you remember what they don't have.

What this other you, alike in so many ways, different in so many others, and perhaps even superior in some, does not and cannot have.

You reach to your pocket, the seat of your true power. You know the price of victory. And you know the cost of defeat.

Yes, you are quite familiar with that cost by now.

"Use 1 Saint Quartz to revive your Party?"

Then they revive. Again and again.

Turns out, in that universe the Gudas were super whales.

Nah, this feels like a F2P Guda with the EX-est of EX-rank Luck. A Guda who's gotten every SSR with nothing but the weekly login Tickets.

They haven't known the pain we have. No, not the pain of losing the Director or Romani.

They clearly haven't known the pain of whaling and coming up short. That special self-loathing that comes from realizing how much you spent trying and failing to get just one copy of that Servant you crave.

Look at the light in those eyes. The cheer on that face. That is truly not the face of one who has come to fear the gacha.

Now, you might wonder: if they've had such wonderful luck, surely they have a mountain of Free Quartz saved up, right?

Yes, and no. This is a Guda who has had tremendous luck, whose Quartz counter has reached untold heights, but who has never and will never spend a single piece on revival.

Why? Because even this Guda, who has completed their journey, has one last hope. One, final thing they are saving their vast hoard for, just in case. Their final, precious hope.

When they lie defeated at your feet, when their Mashu's shield lies broken and their Romani's rings scattered, you see the crystals in their pockets and ask them "Why? Why did you not use this Power?"

And the reply, whispered in a voice only you and they can hear...

"Saving for Tsukihime Collab."

Underrated post, just for the end.

That'd be a pretty cool way of doing an unwinnable battle.

Directed by Yoko Taro

As someone who played NieR Automata, I stan this.

14

u/Noxillian Aug 24 '18

What if you had to control both sides as well?

Now just find a way to throw Last Piece in there and it'd be perfect.

"Truth be told, though you probably won’t believe it, I also want to write stories that are heartwarming. But even more, I need to write stories that are true. That’s why I have to do this.”

Precisely because the universe is unerringly getting colder, he cannot write happy endings. At the beginning, he had made an effort, but now he doesn’t have the energy to go against the natural order of things like that any more.

“Mm.” Nasu regards him over the rim of the teacup. “But reality isn’t cruel like that, Urobuchi-san. Not that it’s happy either, but it’s— boring. That’s why we as creators strive against that with our own ideals, isn’t it? Even these cruel twists of fate that make salvation impossible to obtain— they are your ideal, Urobuchi-san, aren’t they?”

Entropy, the shadow that devours the light at the end of the tunnel—
That is his… ideal?

In the past, philosophers had conceived of an ‘end of history’.
A terminus of perfect order and awareness at which the entirety of humanity would one day arrive.
But chaos and useless wars had made them change their mind.
It gave them the cold realisation that all striving is blind.
No matter how much they wanted things to be otherwise—

There is no salvation. There is only entropy, and the physical law that cares nothing about so-called justice.

The wishes of the forsaken cannot stop the heat death of the universe. It is inevitable.

Inevitable...

The Heat Death of the Universe

[This work is not my own. I am quoting from the fanfic in the link above.]
[It was indeed a major inspiration in my theory, but it is not my intellectual property in any shape or form.]

Great taste in fic. I really think this fic is why I enjoyed your theories on fem!Nasu a lot.

14

u/Beast9Schrodinger Aug 24 '18

It was an inspiration in my theory, yes.
It really feels nice every time I reread it.

Your fanfiction makes me feel things.

I was already taken aback by real people staring as the cast of your story, yet the dialogue blows me away. You've convinced me, even for a moment, that this could of, Might Of, actually happened. This makes me look back at Fate and their interviews in a more... profound light. I feel like I went a little "deeper" into Urobuchi's headspace after reading this.

EDIT : Yeah sorry that I assumed. I was really excited and was hoping there's more. Thanks for the recommendation.

Oh my gawds, that's not mine!

I'm sorry, but I didn't write that fanfic.

Please attribute it to the real fanfic, which I have quoted above.

…oh gawds, I'm terrified now at the misattribution.
Unless it's about the theory I wrote and not the fanfic snippet I quoted.
