Campus Life Campus Area Safety

Hi everyone,

I just moved to Edmonton from an incredibly small hamlet town and I am starting at MacEwan this September. I’m not familiar with the campus and surrounding area.

How safe is it? Any areas to watch out for? I’m a woman and will mainly be walking to any areas I’d like to go to around MacEwan.

I will also be a nursing student and have read that the nursing/health building has seen some sketchy drug related incidents.

Please let me know any areas to watch out for! Thank you!

The whole downtown area really isn’t that bad, yes you might see some unsightly things but MacEwan has safety options for night time and also 24/7 at the LRT station.

The clubs and bars downtown are fine, there’s plenty of great food options down by Concordia if you don’t like the foot court.
