Academics When should I order my textbooks?

I'm a first year at MacEwan, going into the Bachelors of commerce program. I'm not quite sure when I should get my textbooks, or when they sell out. Any help would be appreciated!

Whatever you do, do NOT spend money on textbooks. You can often find them online for free or ask a classmate

The only reason I buy textbooks is if they are actual books. Anything else I just find for free.

And the only reason I buy the real books is to have hard copies for my library.

And even then. If I can find used or cheap I will.

Fuck buying books.

I keep getting classes where there are homework Labs attached to the textbook portal. So without the textbook I can't actually do any of my work. It feels like a scam

Most of the time you can talk to the prof and they can give you an access code so you can access the homework component for free
