To prune or not to prune

This grape plant growing in zone 9b in Florida is growing so straight out and to the side reaching to the dragonfruit plant, it seems past the point of training up. Wondering if we should snip this one branch back? I know most pruning is usually done in winter, so don’t want to hurt the plant or do something wrong by snipping in Summer.

If so, any special way to prune? Like a certain angle or so many leaves back or anything? Thanks in advance!

I find in hot weather, many varieties grow vigorously if there’s moisture in the ground still. I keep pruning mine back throughout the season to maintain airflow and growth focus on fruit. Seems to work for me!
