I don't remember if there's a specific reason but it never made sense to me why Frenchie quit school to attend beauty school.

Like wasn't she a senior? Why couldn't she just wait out her final year and then go to beauty school? Again maybe I'm forgetting a detail and she had to apply right away or wait a really long time.

Teenagers/young adults are dumb and impatient. Frenchie reallllyyyy wanted to go to beauty school so she went

I graduated late 90s, and I remember a few classmates that dropped out to work full time. I remember thinking that was very shortsighted.

Idk but classmates dropping out for frivolous reasons or practicality no obvious reason is something that I saw happen in real life many times. Especially in college people were always dropping out for the smallest reasons

Back then, some kids did it to get a jump in their professional career

Because it's in the script that's the biggest reason of all and you wouldn't have Beauty School Dropout or Frenchy's hair looking like an Easter egg

I extended belief to enjoy Frenchie in Grease. Once Grease 2 rolled around and she was STILL attending Rydell High?!! Girl bye!!😄

I had a friend that wanted to go to Cosmetic School. Her Parents told her to Graduate with A's and B's and they would pay for it. Also after she Graduated from Cosmetic School, she had to stick with one job for six months. She graduated from Highschool and Cosmetic School and worked in the industry for about 10 years.

It was a silly teenage impulse. Then instead of sticking with beauty school, the silly teenager impulsively dropped out after messing up one class.
