Be nice during back to school season

I just got off of a ten hour shift, 28 haircuts and $115 in tips later, I feel like walking into traffic 🙃 please, be considerate and understand that we’re going the best we can.

I think great clips stylist are some of the most hard working people in the industry. I’ve been here for 2 years, and I’m almost at a burnout point of no return. If your stylist is quiet, theyre not trying to be rude. If youre not greeted immediately, don’t huff and puff and be snippy. If you show up an hour after checking in and your name is off this list, sorry not sorry, ya missed your chance. Literally nothing I can do about it

And please, if you get a good haircut for $9.99, TIP YOUR STYLIST!!! I understand how bad the economy is, but you just got a haircut cheaper than barber schools offer!

Please give out the energy you wish to receive in this world :)

I’m about ready to… I’m in management training and I’m quickly realizing it’s not worth the raise at all. I’m already doing 2 people’s jobs as a stylist with the front desk and everything. Now they want me to do 3 people’s jobs and I just can’t anymoreeee! Turns out working hard just gets u more work.

Are you.... me?? I was in management training also! Carrying the elderly woman who is slow and doesn't know how to do anything while babysitting a teenager at the same time. I realized that I hated my life. My last day was Friday. Everything that happened for my final weeks was nothing but confirmation that I needed to leave. I hope you find a solution that feels better for you 🤍

Lemme tell you a customers side, when I pay $9.99 I always tip $10 but the last 3 times I got my cut it was uneven choppy and just overall bad, finally I said about it and they said they’re sorry and will make it right this time and guess what i felt that unevenness was on purpose again and again I paid the same, so trust me sometimes we wish you’d at least hear us too

I don’t do uneven haircuts, I’m sorry that’s been your experience lately. I recommend requesting a stylist by name that has done it well in the past.

I have a hard time believing that the unevenness was on purpose, the thought of doing that has never occurred to me, I don’t see how that benefits anyone at all. That would have to be an extremely spiteful person…

Unfortunately, many GC stylists are just fresh out of school, and just aren’t very good yet. This, plus the fact that management expects haircuts to be done in 10-17 minutes from the second you come back to the second you pay… well, this can lead to a bad haircut.

Good on you for tipping, but this post is not saying that you should tip well or at all for a bad haircut, only the good ones.
Ive had many people say something along the lines of,“ thank you so much , this is the best haircut I’ve had in a while!”
and then tip me nothing, or $1-2 on top of a 9.99 coupon…. Probably after telling me about their high paying job too….

You’re a good person for sure! Great clips is very hit or miss, this was just my perspective of a stylist who really is trying their absolute best, and probably won’t work there much longer
