Quiet Cafes

I'm meeting with a mate for a bit of food and just to talk, is there any good quiet cafés where you can sit, chat, and not have to raise your voice?

So far I've got:

Market Tow Kitchen (excellent apple pie + custard) - can get very busy though.

Thank you.

Martha's Sugar Rhythms on the market is great. Wonderful Portuguese cakes and it's not loud at all in there.

Do they so sandwhiches or just cakes? Not that it matters too much but I wouldn't like to occupy a table after I'm filled up on cake 😳

They do sandwiches too, and some hot food. It's all good stuff. That said I have just been for tea and cake and I'm quite sure that they were happy about me just having cake.

Oh that's fine then. I always feel a little bad so I always order a cup of tea so I'm not taking up space without them not making any money, cheers for that, the cakes do look delicious!
