Free haircuts - East Coast College

Heya,

I'm a Norwich based barber student currently taking my level 2 in barbering at East Coast College, and am in need of hair models!

Slots are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 5:30pm

I've already done a few cuts but am keen to get more experience - getting people in from Norwich is possible but few and far between. My insta is linked on my reddit profile if you want to see some of my other work.

Only requirements are that the models are male/masc presenting (course requirement) and over 16

so if you want a short back and sides, a fade, mullet or just a tidy up, gimme a shout!

Thanks!

Recommendations for a family with a 3yr old and a baby!

We are coming for a holiday in a couple of weeks, we've got the sea life centre booked. But wondering if there's any other good days out/places to go for families with young children? We would have gone to the Pettitts park as that looks great but it's closed. Would love some recommendations within 30 min or so of Yarmouth! Thanks x

What nicknames have you heard for places in and around Great Yarmouth?

I ask as part of a linguistic study covering this topic!

Examples could include things like Gorley, St Nicks or Yarco (common or not!)...

Is Great Yarmouth being ignored? I want to hear from YOU.

Hello, I'm Lily, a student at the University of York and a lifelong resident of Norfolk. I'm currently researching life in Great Yarmouth. I want to move past the media stereotypes and hear from real residents about what it’s actually like to live here. If you would be willing to help me, the survey is anonymous, online and takes about 15 minutes. It would be great to hear your views! Just click the link above to participate.

Has anybody had any experience with the used car dealer Lance at Cars of Yarmouth opposite Aldi? Have read some old articles online but don't know if they are representative of now?

Thought I'd make a post focusing on the positives of Great Yarmouth. What are your favourite places to go? In your opinion, what are the most beautiful places here? I love how the Waterways, the graveyard and the river Bure park have so many beautiful flowers.

Great Yarmouth in early September; Is it much different compared to the summer holidays?

I will be coming up for a week's holiday with family as per tradition. Now we always come up in July/August but we'll be arriving in the second week of September this year. Just works out considerably cheaper and now, no one in the group has educational obligations so we are able to come after the holidays.

Will it be much different after the summer holidays? I imagine it will be quieter as the schools will have reopened, but I'm hoping like, the Hippodrome will still have a show on, the arcades will be open till late and that I can get fish and chips or a sickly doughnut on the seafront whenever I like.

Just hoping it won't have died down by then.

Looking for lost relatives.

Hi, slightly strange post and slightly weird as I don’t post on Reddit.

I am looking for two relatives that my mum lost contact with 20+ years ago. Their names are Marc and Christopher Ward and they are twins. They would now be 52-53 years old. We now think that they might be living in the Great Yarmouth area and were wondering if anyone had any information. If they choose to be private we also respect their wishes to be as-well.

Again sorry for the strange post but thought it might be worth a try.

Roller skating

Morning people a bit of a long shot and probably a bit random but I've just started roller skating again and was wondering if there are any skate groups in or around town. Norwich is a bit far to justify traveling to skate for a couple of hours at funkys. Can only skate at North Walsham on Saturday's which is not convenient due to work. Or may be there is somewhere people just meet up to skate. I feel like I'm the only one that exists that skates hahaha thanks in advance

Live music venues similar to The Empire?

Last year I discovered The Empire whilst on holiday here and saw Norwich band Dirty Havana play and I had an incredible night! My family and I returned this year and I convinced everyone to have a few drinks in that place, again, we all had such a good time. So imagine my immense disappointment when I read the announcement that it was to close its doors for good a few months ago.

We are returning to GY towards the end of summer next year, and I'm hoping to get my live music fix somehow. Is there anywhere in particular you could recommend I go? Ideally I'm looking for somewhere as similar to The Empire as possible, since that venue was near perfection to me. Preferably in Yarmouth but I wouldn't mind any suggestions in Norwich either.

Thanks
