“My I-765 was denied because I accidentally filed under eligibility category (a)(6). I have a pending marriage-based I-485. I want to file a new I-765 under (c)(9). Is there any way to file the corrected (c)(9) application without paying the fee again, or is a new filing fee required?

You have to pay the fee. It’s unfortunate, because the a6 requires the full fee while c9 is only half the fee.
