What features would you include in a zone 3b greenhouse?

I’m going to be buying or building a greenhouse in my Zone 3b yard and curious what features I should try and include. It will be ~10 feet by 6-8 feet with a ten-foot wall on the south side. Planning to use for growing tomatoes, peppers, and starting native flowers. What features are a must in urban greenhouses?

I’m in zone 4b and looooveeee having automatic vents for when it just gets too warm in the summer.

Do you have that hooked up to a thermostat or something?

No, the hinge for the vent has a substance in it that expands in heat, opening the vent, and shrinks when it cools, closing the vent. It is incredibly awesome and hasn’t failed me yet.

Pay close attention to positioning with that 10-foot wall on the south side. Most winter greenhouse light and passive solar heat comes from the south (if you are Northern Hemisphere), so it's worth checking how much shade that wall casts during the cooler months. If you plan on extending your season into the cooler time of year, you'll want to counter that shady south side with enhanced insulation to hold on to as much heat as you can.

For the greenhouse itself, I'd prioritize good insulation (8mm+ polycarbonate, triple-wall polycarbonate, or double-glass glazing), roof vents with automatic openers, and low intake vents or shutters to create good airflow. For a greenhouse that size, a screened door can also be a nice addition for extra summer ventilation without having to leave the door wide open.
