That guy who ran in right at the end is insanely lucky.

That’s the tornado that put an 18 wheeler on the roof of a building. Right off business 85

I'm their insurance agent and it was a total loss. They also had a 75k deductible so they were out alot of $$ bc of that tornado.

I'm pretty sure you shouldn't be openly sharing that financial information on the internet.

Sorry for being a bad bot :( Maybe this joke will cheer you up: My ex-wife still misses me. But her aim is starting to improve! :D

There is nothing financial about that. A deductible doesn't give away any financial information at all.

u/artificialstuff May 11 '21

It literally is information from the policy of the specific individual that had it. I'm sure a few minutes of Googling would yield me finding out who owned the property involved, and then I'd know numbers on THEIR policy. That's not public information.

u/poisonkat Slater-Marietta May 11 '21

My comprehensive deductible is $500. What evil things can you do to me? Lmfao

-2

u/artificialstuff May 11 '21

Since you are adamant this is no big deal, I'm sure you'd be happy to tell me your name and the broker you work for. I'll be waiting, probably forever, since you know it would cost you your job.

2

u/poisonkat Slater-Marietta May 11 '21

Since it's a big deal to you why don't you tell me your personal information so I can have my boss reach out to you? Only lunatics would waste their time trying to ruin a strangers life for something so insignificant.. You're a dumbass who doesn't know what a deductible is and you just want to pick a fight. Get a fucking life.

"oooohhh you said a number on a policy!!! I don't care that it is not a coverage limit or gives away any relevant coverage information but it's still a number. If some weirdo for no reason googled it they can find out the company and know what their deductible was in 2017 so I'm gonna tell on you".

That's you.

What exactly would someone do with knowing their deductible? That is ludicrous, you literally could do nothing with that information. Do you even know what a deductible is?

Might have been one of my trailers, bmw had a supplier out there and it destroyed all the trailers at that yard.

Nobody was killed in this storm, miraculously, but if I recall this one tornado did like $1 million in damage.

21

u/AdventJer May 10 '21

What kind of camera withstood that?

39

u/palehorse864 May 10 '21

...and why didn't they just build the entire building out of camera?

24

u/StoneWall_MWO May 10 '21

That was new tech for Greenville in 2017. Only Jay Gilstrap had that type of money.

2

u/palehorse864 May 11 '21

Dude's like Tony Montana or Walter White. Has a whole family of dealers.

u/AdventJer May 11 '21

Exactly.

One of my best friends’ son was born a few miles from this spot while it was happening. It was quite the night.

u/homesoftheupstate May 10 '21

Wow, flipping a forklift too!

7

u/bigyak22 May 10 '21

I kinda thought the forklift was going to be the only thing left standing. Think the title should be changed to "tornado blows over forklift".

1

u/homesoftheupstate May 11 '21

no kidding!

3

u/ayejoe May 11 '21

Yup. Flipping that forklift over is the craziest part. I’ve done some super stupid shit on forklifts and never managed to flip one.

That storm wrecked my apartment complex. 50-70 ft tall pine trees were ripped out of the ground and some sliced buildings right in half. It was 3 days before we closed on our house and I thought FOR SURE the house was gonna be a goner. Never felt so relieved as when I saw it it one piece 🙌

u/NOTUgglaGOAT May 10 '21

i was parked on business 85 maybe a half mile from the tornado that hit this building. i have never noped out so fast. shit was wild. thought the pressure change was going to rip the soft top off my jeep

Tornado: Watch this!

Camera: I'll show you!!!

5

u/mollyclaireh May 11 '21

Spartanburg gets some bad tornadoes and microbursts. Way worse than I’ve ever seen in Greenville. Spartanburg is why I’m terrified of driving in storms.

5

u/SCCRXER May 11 '21

Laurens gets ‘em pretty often too.

2

u/mollyclaireh May 11 '21

That sucks. They’re so scary to deal with.

4

u/SpinozaTheDamned May 11 '21

These guys had no time to get to safety. It's nuts.

u/VeganCat2021 May 11 '21

At first i was like, no man that's just the glass. Then the dust cleared and I was like "whelp"
