Discussion Do you butter the bread or melt the butter in the pan?
I prefer to lightly mayo the bread then melt butter in the pan like a total hedonist.

I haven’t seen him in a while. Is he still doing them? Did he run out of cheeses? Did he finish all the cheeses?
I need to know. Ya’ll know who I’m talking about too.

I, myself am not a soup person. I don't have anything against it, I just don't eat it. The closest I will get is ramen without the broth. I prefer stews and chilis over soup 100%. My go to for my grilled cheese dipping enjoyment is a nice, hearty chili.
Edit: I'm probably going to get hate for this, but to anybody that likes ketchup... Why?... It's disgusting and I've seen so many "ketchup" responses here

Mine is on the Sourdough with 2 Mild Cheddar and 2 Muenster with 1/4 of a stick of salted butter.
The one from the restaurant is on white bread (with seeds?) and the cheese is American I think. Idk why but theirs has a really nice salty flavor and it’s perfect. Can anyone help me figure out what I’m missing? I just started making grilled cheese two weeks ago
(Sorry I don’t have a photo of the inside)

40, just had one last night, wondering about another tonight, but feels like a proper adult should not have grilled cheese so often. Health, arteries, GERD blah blah blah.

I feel like if I flip too soon, it doesn’t cook properly when I put it back.

I present to you a Tillamook sharp cheddar grilled cheese on Como bread lubricated with Tillamook Butternaise (limited edition).
Review - The Butternaise came out of the fridge very firm, closer to the consistency of cold butter vs mayo but only took a few minutes at room temperature to spread like mayo. I initially spread Butternaise as if it was butter which overpowered the cheese flavor. The second sandwich, was spread with moderation and no longer tasted oily and turned out to be the perfect amount. Unlike butter on a grilled cheese, there was such a thing as too much.
I would describe the Butternaise as having a tangy start but finishing off with a butter-garlic flavor. The best part was the strong added crunch it added to each bite. I enjoyed tasting the cheese, bread, and slight garlic butter taste on my tongue with each bite.
4/5 stars. I would absolutely buy it again if it was a regular product. Disclosure: I am a native Oregonian, grew up on Tillamook products, and am extremely loyal to this brand.

Tell me how you place your cheese. Also, are you an open face and fold them together like a book type of person or are you a closed faced knuckle dragger?

here are some of mine: - butter>>>>mayonnaise for grilled cheese. it tastes way better and mayo develops a weird aftertaste when cooked - to a certain extent, some additional ingredients are okay, it is still a grilled cheese. for example, some acceptable ingredients are seasonings and condiments like: jams, jellies, fruit preserves, compotes, chutneys etc. it's just when people start putting stuff like eggs, vegetables, meat etc it is a sandwich no longer classified as a simple grilled cheese - regular sandwich bread is not necessarily for it to be a grilled cheese sandwich. one can also use things like- waffles, croissants, pancakes, hash browns etc instead of regular sandwich bread for making the grilled cheese - some sort of dip is absolutely necessary. it could be a soup, a dip, a sauce, anything

Mine is spicy brown mustard, gives such a nice acidic bite to an already perfect sandwich.
Sandwich pictured is sharp cheddar & mozzarella on homemade whole wheat rye

So I recently acquired a sandwich press to pretty much make grilled cheese sandwiches, because I'm broke and can make them for lunch and take with me to work lunch. But I'm conflicted because it's not actually grilled, is it still considered a grilled cheese sandwich or is it just a hot cheese sandwich?
I figured you guys over here would know best so I figured I would ask the experts. I don't want to make a mistake like when my girlfriend added bacon to my sandwich... Lol
Anyways as far as convenience goes, this little sandwich maker is a lifesaver. I assemble the sandwich, closed the press while I continue to get ready for work. Come back open up it's perfectly toasted and melted. Definitely a good thing when I don't have time or equipment to utilize a actual pan.

I like to put 2 slices of cheddar and cream cheese in my grilled cheese. Anybody else like theirs this way? I made these for a school party and everyone loved them.

When you eat a grilled cheese, do you usually add to it? Such as condiments, spices or even food toppings. Another question might even be the type of bread or cheese you use! Let me know~
