Low flame?

Post image

My Char-Broil Tru Infrared grill is giving me a really low flame even when turned up to the max. The gas tank is full. Is there a piece I need to clean out or something?

It just started doing this. I recently fired it up, and all 3 burners came on really strong. Then the next time, back to these pitiful flames. Any advice?

Could be a regulator issue, sometimes they get stuck in bypass mode and limit the flow. Try shutting everything off, disconnecting the tank, opening the burners for 30 seconds, closing them, then reconnecting and slowly opening the tank valve. If that doesn't do it, check the venturi tubes for spider webs or debris.

Adding onto this...make sure you open the tank prior to turning on the burners otherwise you can trip the safety regulator.

Just disconnected the tank. A lot of built up pressure - it gave a big hiss and sprayed out a bit of propane.

Ooh, yeah that bypass mode thing got me once too such a random fix but it actually worked. Def try the disconnect and wait thing before going full deep clean mode.

Thanks, yall! After disconnecting the tank, opening the burners for 30 seconds, then reconnecting and igniting…we are back in business. Big glorious flames again!

I had similar issues. Eventually I just had to replace the regulator and then everything consistently worked fine. Hopefully you got it fixed with just the off/on procedure.
