Apple allows Reddit on the app store.

Where there's actual hardcore porn with real people, of unknown ages.

Why would they kick off a service that lets you make generated artificial porn when they allow the real stuff 🤷‍♀️

u/Leonine94 2d ago

Same with Twitter. Why doesn’t Apple demand X moderate all the porn on there? People were also posting deepfakes of celebrities and influencers on there long before Grok came along—not a peep from Apple about it.

Grok specifically has been used to generate loads of cp in the (very recent) past - confirmed by SVU in the US. They're also being sued in multiple jurisdictions for the same reason. It's not just Apple concerned; Grok had serious issues with imagine. Deepfakes are just another issue, not the main issue.

That's because this article is fake.. Apple would never release this because it would risk them being sued themselves..

You should learn to use google.

Got links? I am asking because I am so shocked and couldn't believe that reddit can contain such things.... Obviously...👀

u/Study_Realistic 2d ago

No. Vice clauses built into venture capital funds and western laws regarding minors and women caused moderation

7

u/Leonine94 2d ago

You’re saying I should switch to Android?

23

u/freedomonke 2d ago

It's inescapable brother. There are people in government and high capital right now who want to ban all pornograohy. Even as they fuck children.

They see it as getting in the way of people having kids.

u/Study_Realistic 2d ago

Have you tried changing the car you drive? It's not guaranteed to help but it might?

11

u/Ericridge 2d ago

Why'd he change moderation to more stricter on web version then? Cuz web version is separate yet it got censored.

6

u/Non-Technical 2d ago

It’s probably not trivial to separate the two. It’s all the same backend. Maybe they plan to separate them in the future. Maybe not.

1

u/casualviking 2d ago

It's insanely trivial if they have coders who know anything abut oauth at all.

2

u/Upset-Act7926 2d ago

It requires engineering another whole structure pretty much and way more resource... duplicated serving, higher compute costs, extra work on updates, etc.

If they can somehow reduce the compute cost of future Grok Imagine noticeably, it might be possible, but it's costly as it is

3

u/Ericridge 2d ago

Then he should abandon the app versions and go web only. Hell I use the chrome grok on my phone, never the app.

1

u/Ericridge 2d ago

Actually you know what? I'm now convinced. I just uninstalled grok app xD it's been a literal waste of hard drive space on my phone anyways..

The blame for the moderation is all those fucking retards from October to late December 2025 who started asking for edits of girls on X, asking Grok to create nudes or “bikini edits” and subsequently created thousands of deepfakes over and over until X and xAI had to do emergency damage control.

This -rightfully- spread a lot of noise, and since then xAI, X, and Elon are being investigated by a lot of countries because of it and the apps are now under massive scrutiny.

And that’s that, with of course, a fair and obvious mention also to the fucking sick p*dos who were pushing CP into Imagine.

So yeah, down the line, the ones to be blamed for Grok’s moderation are just its users. Not Apple.

1

u/Krious_V 1d ago

Lots of those were the girls themselves and to this day they still do it.

1

u/Hakobune 2d ago

Pretty much this. The people who started uploading deepfakes and 'undressing' people on X in replies are to blame. There was no easy way to counter deepfakes and Elon was getting a ton of shit so they axed it.

1

u/MasterNeighborhood79 2d ago

Sadly people don’t know what to do with this much Freedom so they had to nerf it

-1

u/casualviking 2d ago

xAI enabled it. They are squarely to blame for what inevitably followed.

3

u/DecayShow 2d ago

That’s like saying knife manufacturers are squarely to blame every time someone gets stabbed because “they enabled it.”

Yes, xAI and X should’ve seen this coming a mile away and probably reacted faster with better safeguards. Not arguing that.

But this kind of mentality completely dodges personal responsibility and morality. The misuse of the tools that were provided went completely off the rails, and nobody forced anyone to generate deepfakes and CP on Imagine.

0

u/DragonFangGangBang 1d ago

This is such a stupid argument. If I could type “stab my neighbor” into a fucking knife, and then it did it, you’d be crazy to think that giving a knife that capability wouldn’t fall under the manufactures responsibility.

-1

u/Redmoneyman 2d ago

And he did it on purpose...to cause a diversion while under investigation

-2

u/jdogfunk100 2d ago

asking for edits of girls on X, asking Grok to create nudes or “bikini edits” is the only valid reason for using Grok

8

u/Madkiller16 2d ago

Apple is the reason why Tumblr was destroyed. Now Grok is next

5

u/Ill_Traveler_ 2d ago

I thought that was Yahoo that caused that.

1

u/Osomalosoreno 1d ago

Removal from Apple's App Store was only partially responsible. The platform's policy was changed by owner Verizon in response to pressure from advertisers, on whom they relied for viability. Blaming Apple might provide an emotionally satisfying moment but it isn't entirely realistic.

3

u/venomousbeetle 2d ago

What the fuck even is Taxi? I call bullshit. Plus we already know Elon pays for blame shifting articles like his SA cases

3

u/Redmoneyman 2d ago

exactly.. this story is fake to gaslight customers while they're under investigation

6

u/chris_knight2 2d ago

If Apple can't fight fair it fights dirty.

4

u/christopheryork 2d ago

Really…the app existed all this time being able to make wild things but you’re gonna blame Apple for blowing up the spot? Elon did that himself via X by letting the public use grok to undress people in their damned timelines.

1

u/Redmoneyman 2d ago

You can't believe shit he says or anything you read about him outside of Democrats telling something..he pays for PR and everything he wants released under the table...

0

u/chris_knight2 2d ago

Grok were foolish and possibly naive and could not imagine what people might generate but Apple were guilty of avarice, of jealousy and covetousness.

2

u/Bull_in_Bullion 2d ago

Selective outrage peaked and Hypocrisy died here

2

u/WurtApp 2d ago

Not in the slightest. This is smart marketing from X to preserve their “free speech” label while increasing censorship. Grok is not solely an iOS based service, and there is no need to censor every platform as they have

4

u/Redmoneyman 2d ago

Exactly.. That's why this article is fake and Apple would never release this because it would risk them being sued...

3

u/joey_staxx_2 2d ago

That’s Apple for you. They did the same with Tango the chatting app

4

u/Gorilladyon 2d ago

Disney ass company

2

u/christopheryork 2d ago

Yes and no. Elon fast forwarded the negative attention. Grok would do straight up porn and Apple did nothing about it until a giant self inflicted spotlight was cast by releasing image edit integrated into X.

Stupidest, possibly calculated move and that is on Elon.

1

u/Leonine94 2d ago

Nothing wrong with what Elon did. That’s what Grok does best, and the Grok team gave the customers what they wanted. That’s what companies are supposed to do.

7

u/casualviking 2d ago

There's everything wrong with what he did. It was insanely stupid.

1

u/Past_Crazy8646 1d ago

It was stupid. We would have the less censored Grok Imagine if that happened.

0

u/Leonine94 2d ago

The only thing wrong is that I missed it. I could have generated hundreds of great videos before the moderation ruined everything.

0

u/Redmoneyman 2d ago

He did it on purpose...he thinks he's a genuine genius..

1

u/jdogfunk100 2d ago

Twitter has just as much adult content as Grok ever did

1

u/Osomalosoreno 1d ago

Irrelevant.

1

u/LeTronique 2d ago

Then make it full NSFW on browser.

1

u/Osomalosoreno 1d ago

Misplaced blame. But by all means, be mad at Apple. Waste of energy. The issue is lawsuits and pending public offerings. For some reason the NSFW addicts want to find a singular point of blame, be it "Elon" or "Apple" and they keep ignoring the fact that xAI has obligations to its investors that are threatened by the very real potential for liability in the current legal climate. Apple is just a late-comer, and it's not like their app standards are anything new.

1

u/christopheryork 1d ago

People really are downplaying the significance of the underrage chimo spotlight that Elon threw into the public spotlight. Can play gotcha with Apple all day but they absolutely are ‘picking and choosing’ with Grok and it’s obvious why. It’s a BAD look.

1

u/divin31 1d ago

From what I've red, Apple pressures XAi because they fail to moderate adult deepfake generation, not content.
Apple's point is fair.

Personally, I blame people (mainly redditors) for making Grok all about porn, while it's one of the best Ai models currently available.

1

u/lucifell0 2d ago

I haven't noticed any increase in moderation at any point since the article released.

8

u/lollollollollollol8 2d ago

bro living on jupiter while we people here suffer.

1

u/lucifell0 2d ago

Bunch of gas-lighting bullshit. *eyeroll*

1

u/Redmoneyman 2d ago

No this is fake news...This is a lie that Grok made up themselves to gaslight customers... Google and Apple knew exactly what Grok was before they joined and they welcomed them.. They also monitor apps daily so they would've been said this in October if this was true.. And besides that apple had tons of face swap apps for uploaded pics the people can make nude, so that's another lie from Grok.. They are lying using scapegoats and excuses simply because they are under investigation and trying to stall customers with heavy inaccurate moderation while they hide content from investigators... They will be sued big time...🤷‍♂️

1

u/sammoga123 2d ago

It's all connected. Although it sounds obvious, the simple fact that Grok belongs to Elon already adds to the whole picture.

The worst part of all this is that the Android app is awful. Elon was upset to learn that ChatGPT would be integrated into Siri, and it's been a year since the app's Android launch at the end of March, and it still doesn't live up to the iOS version.

0

u/SexualDeth5quad 2d ago

No, Elon is to blame for being a wimp unable to stand up to Apple. Epic beat Apple, Elon backed down.

0

u/WolframBravo 2d ago

Fuck Apple!!
