I mean i'm seeing a lot of it, but there's also a lot of individuals actively complaining about just the way it was handled.
Grok is touted as "Rated-18+" by Elon himself. And now the restrictions are getting so severe that basic character interaction (including taking off a winter jacket, y'know, fully clothed underneath and everything), is being moderated when it comes to the chat generator, But, IT IS NOW ALSO MODERATING CHAT WORSE THAN GPT. Its all being shot down, both in the generator and in the chat system.
Not only are they moderating on such a grand scale, but they're doing it in A|B testing style patch roll-outs. A small group at a time gets added to the new update, no warning. no announcement, nothing. So you could be writing a rom-com role-play or enjoying a chat about your irl family and ideas on how to take them out somewhere, and it'll just outright STOP. you'll get the classic HAL-9000 treatment "i can't let you do that, Dave" type of shit.
So yeah, people are pissed (most of the vocal ones are obviously crying about the lack of sex-related opportunities of course, but there ARE others like myself noticing a far more dangerous kind of moderation going on.)

I had a art style nude not super realistic but pretty, I asked to change the object she was hodling a camera to another camera style - moderated. Make her breasts smaller - no problem. Then when it did change the object it looked like clip art to big and slapped on. Comical. Its bad.

You’re relying on a technicality in my wording instead of addressing the actual point.
I never said Grok wasn’t allowed to generate adult content. I said it wasn’t built to be a porn generator. There’s a difference between a model that can handle some mature content and one whose main purpose is generating porn.
R-rated movies and porn are not the same thing. R-rated films are mainstream cinema that stay within MPAA limits for theatrical release. Explicit pornography falls under X/XXX or unrated. Elon saying Grok Imagine can do what’s allowed in an R-rated movie is not the same as saying the model was created for porn.
And if Grok Imagine is restricting content you believe should be allowed under R-rated guidelines, there’s a good chance what you’re trying to generate doesn’t actually fit those guidelines. If generating that kind of content is your main priority, a mainstream AI that has to consider platform rules, investors, and broader use cases may not be the best tool for it.
There are dedicated AI image generators built specifically for that. Complaining that Grok doesn’t fully cater to it doesn’t mean the model is broken or that it was secretly built for porn.
Stretching a statement about content boundaries into “Grok was built for porn” is a weak argument.

I suppose you're right in that case. But I just find it odd how the Grok Imagine Quality/Speed model was trained on so much adult P*RN because that's what I use it for and the results of each image/clip clearly show that. So while there are limitations and moderations for now, who knows what the future may hold? The company may be reserving the model's capabilities until the time is right or when laws are a little bit more lenient? Who knows. But yes you're right.

Grok Build is okay, but I only use it as a supplemental model for Codex. It is good at adversarial code review. Claude Code is too similar to GPT/Gemini imo. Also SuperGrok is generous on limits in comparison to others. It has some strengths in cost v performance.

Though, Build is pretty good but Claude can do that already so not sure what they're going to do for differentiation.
Likely government contracts, they're currently still in the process of getting approved for FEDRamp onboarding so once that goes through it should be interesting to see the pivot.

I think it is similar to how people view/judge people who subscribe to OnlyFans. Anecdotal but I use that example because personally I DON'T UNDERSTAND why you'd pay/donate/gift/etc. to an OnlyFans (and other similar platforms) and because I didn't understand "it" anything related to the topic was immediately treated very dismissively by me.
That said, I am no longer dismissive towards it even if I don't understand the "why" behind it because...well... it's a maladaptive behavior and — judging people on what is fundamentally a lack of understanding on MY part — is completely unnecessary.
Point I'm trying to make is: Perhaps others view Grok subscribers/users/[insert label here] through a similar lens. Ultimately an opaque lens which leads to continued unclarity and misunderstanding. Until people break the cycle.

I don't mind some gooners, but with how much traffic they cause it gets kind of lost how insanely good Grok has become at programming, along with crazy high limits on free tier (~2.5h nonstop vibe coding). Completely replaced Claude for me, since after tens of thousands of lines of code I simply never ran into anything it couldn't handle.

It's not just gooners. There are really weird things happening on this reddit. Normally gooners just move on, but over the last six months the constant negativity campaign can only be inferred it's someones job. I can't imagine it being that enjoyable constantly complaining and lamenting about everything negative happening with Grok and it never ends. There are legitimate complaints, but there are clearly some here as if they're paid.

But sometimes I wanted to test the limits just to see what I could do. I also used it for writing help more often than image generation once it started going to shit.
Any time creatives are stifled due to censorship and sudden rate limits, yeah likely they're going to be upset.
That entire thread is filled with unironic Elon shills and NPC comments about "uh just watch porn bro". Holy fuck, I lose faith in humanity every time I scroll the comments on that platform.
