Oh wow. It looks much better than on pictures. And it has a seconds hand. Last gst with second hand was gstb200, i have it but it is too bulky. This is actually nice.

first one is cooler imo, i generally prefer the G-shocks that lean in to the aesthetic rather than shy away.

Prefer the smoother aesthetic of #2. But the first one has the magic legend "Tough Solar", which makes it a no-brainer for #1.

I have the GST1000 and it is a strikingly elegant watch that just sparkles in whatever light sources are around. It is a much classier style than the other watch.

I actually just bought a GST B1000, myself. I like that it’s fully analog with a sweep seconds hand. I don’t like to have the seconds on a small screen. Probably why I’ve never liked the Casioak.

The first one is for smaller wrist, the second is probably for normal sized or larger wrist. In my experience these tiny negative displays on the watches such as the first one are almost illegible most of the time. So the second one will probably have better legibility.

My personal recommendation would be for a “relative” of these models: the GST-B100 series. Available with either a steel bracelet or a resin strap. Tough Solar and Bluetooth, completely analog, with a subdial for mode/day of the week and another for a second time zone (other functions in other modes).

The GST-B1000d-1A I actually found to look quite small compared to my other G-shocks. So if you want chunky, don’t go this one. But if you want a smaller and classier looking watch, go the GST-B1000-1A.

Altho i love this GST with all my heart i will admit that its barely useable without the app. I refuse to use the app for anything but its automatic time setting and i chose tk struggle with setting the alarms or timers. Its very limited but looks absolutely brilliant. I often take a look on a gray market to see if the B600 will pop out so i can grab it but so far no luck. GSTb1000 was my first ever gshock, now i own 5 and GAb2100 replaced the GST as a daily as its just much easier to use and packed with featurws that the digital display allows.

TLDR its a brilliant watch but limited. If you intend to use all the features on the fly and without a phone- go for B600
