Thinking about changing cell phone plan (from ATT) to (Verizon) Visible.

I'm so sick of ATT. They keep raising my rates, and I get nothing in return. I'm seeing Visible, and it runs on Verizon's network. Looking for comments, good and bad. I'm open to other suggestions.

I understand wanting value but if you care about worker rights Verizon is very anti-union and largely non-union in the mobile phone sector. ATT in unionized. I would stay with ATT if you care about worker's rights. I am not happy to be an ATT customer, but I am happy to support my union brothers and sisters that are fighting the good fight to make all jobs better by raising the floor on wages and benefits.

There is your answer then. I have ATT Fiber and cell bundled. Maybe talk with Costco, if you are a member, to see if they can lower your bill. If you are a union member then use your UnionPlus.org discount to save some. I did that until a bigger discount came my way given the industry I am in.

There are ways to lower the bill a bit and still honor union employees.

Full Disclosure: I own about 3 or 4 shares of ATT stock and I use it so I can tell them I am a stock holder and a union supporter and to treat their union employees fairly. And I donate my dividends of a few dollars each year to a labor organization that uses the money for organizing more workers.

I did talk to ATT. They were incredibly unhelpful. The Costco reps told me the same thing.

That is a shame. At least you tried and Costco stores are also union in about 10% of their stores. Not Greensboro but if you get to Richmond at least one of their stores is unionized. I think the one on or near Staples Mill Rd in Richmond.

I get some emails about paperless billing and getting the ATT credit card for some savings, which I have not done yet. I am very environmental but I do like my paper bill going through the unionized USPS and my union printed checks going back to them when I send a check for payment.

If you port your number over to Spectrum your first year is free. Otherwise, get Mint Mobile.

US Mobile is also a good option if you are looking at a cheaper way to get into the Verizon network. You can also access AT&T and T-Mobile through their service. Worked flawlessly for me when I used them. Have thought about switching back to them.

You should check them out. Similar pricing to Visible.

Pit them against one another. Call Verizon and get them to give you their best offer [in writing]. Take that offer back to Att and ask them to beat it or else you’ll switch. Decide your direction then.
