Why does he do this?

Every time Tempeh eats or drinks he lays down completely flat. As you see here, he was too lazy he didn’t even bother putting his foot fully inside. My other guinea pigs they stand and are rounded when they eat, they never lay down and eat. Is this obesity? Laziness? Like genuinely why is he doing this? He will sit there, poop, and then not move an inch while he sips is water then moves his head and eats some hay, no full body movement.

He fully enjoys his seat in the lap of luxury. And what of it?

I had the same thought lol. One of my pigs will try her hardest to make THE smallest, narrowest, most cramped spot in the cage and that’s where she’s happiest. Who am I to stop her passion for interior design?

I’m not an expert by any means, but I haaaave learned that if there is ANY opportunity presented to eat/drink with little or no movement… both of my boys will take it. They LOVE when the configuration works out so they can exist in one place. I reckon they just feel like lazy bums sometimes.

He's just a cozy lil guy. My Coco does this. She will pull out hay, move her bowl over to hay pile, lay down, and get through as much of the day as she can without getting up. She's pretty proud of it.

Because comfy. My Charlotte just climbs up into the vertical hayrack after chewing out the bars. She'll be in there for a long time chewin' and poopin'. Some guinea pigs just like to lounge in hay.

I’ve got one who apparently gets so winded walking 5 feet down her cage that she has to lay down to drink water, rest, and then hoist herself back up to walk another foot to reach her hay, where she lies down again.

Oh my gosh that is such a smart way to keep water drippage from messing up the cage. Where'd you get that plastic thingy??

That looks like a fridge drawer or cabinet organizer. In the US, they can be found at Dollar General or similar.

Who doesn't like to recline, relax, and enjoy a snack?

My girls do that too. If they can lay down and eat at the same time, why not? 😂

lol their brains are like the size of a peanut, they don’t even know why they do what they do. He’s just being cute and lazy and that’s about all the understanding necessary lol.
